Review: Apple iPad (2017)

Apple's big iPad problem is that it can't convince people to upgrade , because an iPad is just a screen you hold in your hands that runs some apps that do some stuff. For users, that's wonderful. If you already have an iPad you like, you don't need a new one.

The price finally feels right; The battery lasts forever; It does all the iPad things, and does them well

No Pencil support, no Smart Connector; Two speakers don't sound as good as four speakers; The screen's not as eye-popping as other iPads

Apple iPad (2017) review

The new Apple iPad (2017) surprised everyone when it was revealed on 21 March. We were all expecting the iPad Air 3. At least, that's what all the rumours pointed towards. Instead what we got was a hybrid of the original iPad Air and the iPad Air 2 – simply called the iPad (2017).

Cheap (for an iPad; Great performance; Generous storage

Screen isn't as good as iPad Air 2

Wouldn't Consider Another Tablet

Generally speaking, I'm not much of an Apple guy, but i have to admit that when it comes to tablets, I don't think there is a product out there that I would consider over the iPad.

Despite the powerful internals laying inside the iPad mini’s aluminium shell, I found battery life to be impressive. In my time with the tablet, the 23.8 watt-hour (Wh) only needed charging twice with a decent amount of use each day over a week or so: a fantastic result for a mid-sized tablet with...

Very portable, with a well built, well designed body; Retina display is very crisp, powered by fast, significantly upgraded hardware; iOS has by far the best selection of tablet apps going around

Pricey, especially for storage upgrades and the cellular model; Display color gamut is lacking

Apple iPad Mini 2

The Apple iPad mini 2 is just a shrunken, original iPad Air. With a new, lower price, though, it's become the best inexpensive on-ramp to the world of iOS apps.

Thanks to the discourse that was exposed during Samsung and Apple's legal spat in California, e-mail records revealed that Eddy Cue (senior vice president of Internet Software and Services at Apple) was pushing for a 7" iPad in 2011.

Perfect for everything

I always thought an iPad mini would be too small for my taste but after purchasing it, it's perfect. It's light and easy to take around with you.

Small and portable

Great Tablet!

The screen is bright and displays crisp details. The battery is average and can last for about 5 days of normal usage. The loudspeaker and the microphone is good. The aluminium back and glass panel on the front give it a good build quality and hefty feel.

Screen; Text input; Browsing the Internet; Camera is great; Smooth performance; no lag at all

Average battery life
