Apple iPad 3G 64GB review

The iPad is probably the most overhyped portable computing device since the iPhone. Although it's tempting to dismiss Apple's 9.7in touchscreen tablet computer as nothing more than a large iPod Touch, it's much more than that thanks to its larger, higher resolution screen.

Don't believe those who say the first generation ipad is ...

Don't believe those who say the first generation ipad is no longer any use. It may not be as fast or slick as newer versions and It only gets OS 5.01. Who cares! It is possible to download older versions of apps such as Netflix, Spotify etc that work perfectly. This tablet ticks all my boxes.

very impresive

I picked up my iPad, pressed the menu button, typed in my passcode and went straight onto the net in about thirty seconds. That is what this is all about. No one is saying the iPad is a serious computer but it is a very slick net browser that can play music and films in good quality, carry your...

Apple iPad

Apple's iPad is finally here. Neither a smartphone nor a laptop, the iPad is Apple's attempt to create a new category of device that sits in between the two. It's expensive, there are plenty of hardware flaws and missing features, and there is a lack of content, but the iPad remains a very...

Design; outstanding screen; App Store; excellent battery life; impressive performance; works with existing iPhone apps; great digital photo frame

Holding and typing is awkward; display smudges easily; screen almost impossible to see in direct sunlight; no USB port; no SD card reader; no camera; Web browser doesn't support Flash; currently limited content

Preview: Apple iPad

Unlike the iPhone , which Apple kept under such tight guard at its introduction that only a few special types got to touch it for a few minutes, there were iPads aplenty available immediately following the product's press launch.

There are apps for displaying music and guitar tablature, doing some finger painting sketches, reading comic books, playing strategy games, planning a tube journey, booking a restaurant, checking your flights. The list is, quite literally, endless.

Review Apple iPad 3G 64GB

The iPad is fun . It can't and doesn't want to replace a notebook or netbook. And as soon as the small computer is seen as a pure entertainment device, the advantages are obvious. The interactive consumption of multimedia content is the main application field of the iPad.

Precise touchscreen use; Outstanding IPS screen; Silent; Good battery life; Appstore and iPhone compatibility; Workmanship; design; interaction

Arrow keys are missing (virtual and hardware; Only Apple Apps permitted (no alternative browser; Few expansion options; iOS4 not yet available; A few functions of a full-fledged operating system
