failed replaced and failed again

I loved the concept but it was difficult to set up and use, After several firmware updates, it dies while travelling in India. Replaced under warrantywhen I returned. I had to send in the dead drive with all my data on it to get it replaced. A few months later the new unit died. Not a happy camper

I own the 1st release of this excellent product and it is still fully operation. The 2nd release, this product, is just one step up the ladder of excellency from Western Digital. I would highly recommend WD My Passport Wireless Pro to anyone wanting digital camera memory storage / backup while on...

Camera downloads via memory card and/or WiFi; Battery powered; i.e.: no plug-in required; Large storage; Fast access via USB for processing once back home

None that I've found

Meh

Purchased this with the intent of being able to do mobile photo editing as the primary purpose. We work with RAW files that are in the 30MB per image range. Using the WD mobile app, browsing the drive and looking at photos isn't terrible, but integration into iOS, or Windows is fairly terrible.

Having read some of the earlier product reviews I was a little uneasy about using the product even though the reviews did not put me off buying it. Even more so because I have waited for a product like this for several years simply because my prime cameras all use dual CF cards and although I can...

Pretty nice unit

Works well. Not the fastest but OK for what it is. Picky on 128 SD cards so be prepared to do some tests on what cadrs work. Other than that. Pretty nice unit.

Great portable drive

Used this on recent trip, and was delighted. I usually carry a laptop and portable drive to back up memory cards when traveling. With a short trip, decided to take this and leave laptop home. Straightforward function to insert SD card, it makes copy in new folder with the date.

The My Passport Wireless Pro improves on its previous iteration in some ways and packs more bits than any wireless hard drive to date, but its mixed-bag software and usability hiccups gave us pause.

Integrated SD 3.0 card slot; Available in 2TB or 3TB capacities; Good battery life for a wireless hard drive

Glitchy experiences; even after a WD firmware update; Bulky; non-traditional size; Bumpy software implementation

Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro External Hard Drive Review

Western Digital is following up their mobile My Passport Wireless drive with the My Passport Wireless Pro, a lightweight portable drive that is lighter, faster, and available in larger capacities with greater battery life.

Large storage capacity; lightweight and portable; decent battery life; pass-through Wi-Fi; integration with Plex and Adobe CC; user-friendly software

Occasional disconnects during streaming; streaming can lag if more than three or four devices are connected at once; getting it to work well with Plex takes quite a bit of effort and know-how; My Cloud app could use more file organization options; not rugged

An able performer that suits those who need to transfer files quickly, such as photographers out on a shoot. It's ability to use 5GHz band wireless also eliminates the need for cables, yet can deliver the speeds that large files require.

Wireless transfer; Long battery life

Speed limited by hardware

Western Digital My Passport Wireless Pro 2TB Wireless Hard Drive

If you know a bit of Canadian history and politics, you will realize the province of Quebec is kind of a thing of its own. While the rest of Canada speaks English, have a common law legal system, and believes in a unified country, Quebec speaks French, have a civil law legal system, and always had...
