You gotta RAID it through the WD Ultilities app. It took me a minute to figure that out but it has worked fine ever since. I have no problem editing 4K UHD video footage off of it.

Can't speak to reliability yet, but setup was easy. I'm using a standard raid setup to archive photos to make space on my laptop. Perfect for that. It's big, and needs power, but it's more for occasional use to acces older files, so that's fine. Build quality is good, and it's quiet.

Noisy in use, I have had three generations of Western Digital My Book Duo and this is the worst for noise. Noise when the disk drives are in use is excessive, far nosier than previous generations. Also you need a special tool, supplied, to open the case to replace a disk.

Good price for this much RAID storage. Happy with reliability of Western Digital products and expect same with this. One problem when I first got it which caused me to deduct one star. Normally, an external USB drive is plug and play and should mount and show on computer right away.
