The hard drive just arrived a week ago. It was and is everything I was expecting it to be. It could last for 50 years or 50 days, I just don't know yet, but B&H sent me an email requesting I review it, so here it is. I'm sure you've found this review ridiculously helpful.

I buy almost exclusively WD drives. I have owned more than a dozen over the years and have found that if you treat them right (don't drop, leave in hot sun, etc), they will last nearly forever.

Small, no external power needed, high capacity, good price; Best brand in the business if you ask me

A bit thicker than other 2.5" drives; but not a big deal

I purchased this drive to use as a backup drive for photos and family video after a recent pc failure. I was pleasantly surprised to find the drive is USB powered meaning no additional power cable is required. Nice and clean. Transfer times were excellent over 90GB of data in just a few minutes.

No issues with this drive. I like the 'frustration-free' packaging, and the fact that it did not come preloaded with dumpster-ware. It was a true plug-n-play experience. I use the drive for data backup on two laptops running Windows 10, and to that end I use Microsoft's free tool, "SyncToy", which...

This is an excellent drive... I bought it for a my pictures and videos that I stored. This is to replace my old Desktop 2Tb Elements Drive that I bought couple years ago.

Felt abit worried of dropping it or getting it wet as it had ALL my stuff on it; I would recommend getting some form of case / cover for it

I got this drive as it was larger than the drive I had. I also split it into 2 drives so I had one for programs and one for photo's. Its worked great so far but only time will tell as to how reliable it will be in the long run. All in all a great purchase.

Small; fast

I use it to play movies through my tv, the spinning of the hard drive makes considerable noise, very noticeable. Not great for quiet rooms. Otherwise good.

Purchased a few weeks ago on special after having an old 1st gen 1TB hard drive the required mains power as well as USB, very impressed with the speed I can transfer to and from with this hard drive, only regret is I didn't by 2
