upshot, don't be hesident to put a hot rod SDD in an old laptop, u will be pleasantly surprised, at least i was.

bought 2 of these drives; one for a 1 year old

well it is still an 11 yo laptop and is a little glichy and have to reboot everyday to run smoothly as a HDTV PC attached to my TV (ditched cable); but still; wow and not the drives fault; 4gb memory doen't help

Brought old laptop back to life

I dont know a great deal about SSD drives, but the larger capacity the better, and the newer 3D NAND technology improves reliability. This 500GB WD blue SSD 3D NAND ticked those boxes for my PC system drive upgrade. End result- Windows 10 now takes under 30 to fully boot (before with the regular platter drive was around 3 minutes), and programs and items clicked on open pretty much instantly. Worth it.
