TP-Link SafeStream TL-ER6120

TP-Link has a reputation for low-cost networking products, and its latest VPN router is no exception. For just over £147, the SafeStream TL-ER6120 supports up 100 IPsec VPN tunnels; it has dual Gigabit WAN ports that can be used for load balancing or backup links; and security extends to service...

Perfect

We bought this product for a medium size Enterprise and have found it to be very robust. There are 2x wan for double connections. Also I found the the dashboard to be very good in allowing an extensive control over the network including group allocation and speed controls.

Fast, but has lots of missing features, support is not good

2. VPN config is so convoluted, in fact, that I was never able to make it work. Mind you, I've been configuring VPN connections for my company for the past 8 years, and this is the first time that I could not make it work...

The WAN-to-LAN throughput is fast; The management UI is very responsive, although fairly bare/retro

1; the VPN configuration is separated out into 4 different pages; This makes VPN configurations very convoluted

Should I return.....or not

Easy to configure but not getting the throughput as stated. I looked for a latest firmware but the one from 2014 is the latest. Kyu

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

Terrible product. I had problems from DMZ giving strict NAT, port forwarding simply not working, UPnP not working but most of all, the main feature 'VPN' was totally unconfigurable.

Poor excuse for a VPN router

I made the mistake of buying one of these. This is a poor excuse for a VPN router. Check page 36 of their VPN Configuration Guide where it casually notes: "NOTE: IP Address pool must be different range from LAN IP address range.

TP-Link SafeStream TL-ER6120 review

TP-Link's TL-ER6120 may support 100 IPsec VPNs, but we wouldn't recommend using them all at once – the hardware will struggle. That said, it delivers superior performance to other small-business VPN routers and offers an extensive range of WAN failover features.

Large range of WAN failover features; Superior performance compared with competition,

Outdated VPN tutorial; Slower performance than claimed,
