TP-Link Archer C7 Review AC1750

A number of years ago there was a big shift in networking as users moved from wired to wireless. More recently the industry has changed a little with the introduction of Powerline networking. That had a lot of people sceptical however in our experience it actually works very well.

TP-Link has been on a roll this year, releasing one new router after the other. The Archer C7 is their 802.11ac model. We tested it to find out how this AC1750 router fares against the more expensive routers from the competition. In terms of design, TP-Link has a clear idea of what it's going for.

TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 review

In a world of hopeless model numbers, the TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750 is at least a breath of fresh air. It's a delight to have the friendly sounding Archer C7 appear on your list of network devices, while inside its ultra-gloss black chassis is some serious networking hardware.

Two things have recently been bugging me about my TP-Link TD-W8960N Wireless ADSL2+ modem router. It was only Wireless-N and single band (2.4Ghz). Up until recently, this was fine and I never really needed anything faster or dual band.

The Router Ranker shows the Archer C7 tied in second place with the ASUS RT-AC66U . Not bad for TP-LINK's (and QCA's) first effort in an AC1750 class router. The C7's weakest points are its 2.4 GHz downlink throughput and range.
