This watch is so versatile.

I'm a triathlete. In my long weeks, I train 20 hours per week, and I don't regularly charge my watch. But I never run out of battery. I've never run out of battery. Plus the accuracy is better than any watch I have ever used. In the pool the watch auto laps when I stop at the wall. I love the precision! I am hard on stuff, so the durability has truly impressed me. I left it in my car one evening and the temp dropped to single digits. Watch was cold when I put it on, but worked like a charm. Plus, I can dress it up while I work. The different watch faces are simple, but elegant. Plus I'm a fan of the Suunto App....I love this watch.

Another solid Suunto Product

Have had the Ambit3 Peak and Spartan Ultra. This builds on a solid line of durable, functional watches from Suunto. Great battery life even with daily activity and daily heart rate and sleep monitoring. HR monitoring correlates well with my chest strap aside from an initial spike when first starting the activity. Battery with HR use is MUCH better than the Spartan Trainer Wrist Heart Rate that I tried briefly a year or so ago. GPS has been accurate/comparable to the other devices and locks quickly. Only issue - which carries over from the Spartan Ultra - is the lack of automatic time change when traveling. The Ambit3 Peak did it just fine.

Great multisport watch

+Great GPS accuracy +Excellent battery life +Intuitive user interface +Sleep data with sleep HR (excellent for analyzing the training data and planning next training) +New Suuntolink app +Material, fits perfectly -Suuntolink elevation data (correct in watch and Movescount, but Suuntolink shows strange data) -there is no light button during the training (you must push the middle button which changes the screen and then go through the list back to the main screen) - it´s not big issue because I use headlight while running in the night, but sometimes when you don´t have it and you stay outside for a longer time than you planned it can be bothering

Elevation algorithm is poor

I previously owned the Spartan Ultra which I loved. I knew this would be a slight dip in performance due to using GPS rather than Baro, but I didn’t expect it to be unusable for elevation training! My regular 500m route still measures 50m despite all the support from rhe Suunto support team. The wrist HR is pointless as it is so inaccurate - just adds bulk to the product and now I always use the chest strap. Positives - navigation is great, battery life is fantastic and build quality is next to none - what I’ve become used to with Suunto. Very disappointed with the negatives though - hopefully the firmware can be improved and fix the GPS issues!

Nearly perfect watch

Very happy with this watch. I’m coming from a Suunto Ambit that I bought 7-8 years ago, so it was time for an upgrade. The Suunto 9 has a very long battery life. I train 12 or more hours a week with this watch and I charge it once every 2 weeks. The gps is great. It takes no time at all to find your location and no cutting corners while running roads. My only beef with this watch is the wrist heart rate monitoring while swimming isn’t great. Occasionally it will record my heart rate at 230bpm or other outrageous amounts briefly. I could probably throw the belt on and take care of this but I don’t want to subject that to pool water. Otherwise flawless.
