Good value but may not fit

In looking for a new MMO mouse, my primary requirements were good build quality that should last at least 2–3 years, enough buttons to get by, and no wireless. As one of the few quality MMO mice not to use a 12-button thumb array, the Rival 500 has a memorable button layout so I don't usually find myself hitting the wrong buttons. The one niggle is the thumb button placement. I use a palm grip with wrist well back, resting on the table, and I've found the front two buttons to be barely reachable with my thumb. If you have a different grip or large hands this shouldn't be an issue but it may be worth finding one to try out before you buy.

SteelSeries Rival 500 review: A MOBA/MMO mouse that also enhances productivity

We've spoken a few times here at Techaeris about getting a leg up on fellow gamers with better game controllers, keyboards, and mice. MOBA/MMO gamers are no exception and while there are a number of multi-button gaming mice on the market, the SteelSeries Rival 500 takes a new approach to the...

Easy to use, great customization features, comfortable; Has the ability to bind games and applications to configuration setups; Useful for both gaming and office applications

A braided cable, or swappable cables like the Rival 700, would be a nice addition; Only three games work with Gamesense

The Rival 500 is the best MMO/MOBA mouse we have ever been presented! With the addition of SSE3, this mouse is outstanding in its abilities and customization. Accuracy and control, all in a comfortable, affordable, and ergonomically designed layout.

No braided cable Seriously Wtf steelseries

Good overall build quality. Thumb buttons are awkward to use, but become manageable with practice, was about as hard as learning to use the steelworkers cata mouse. Great sensors, lighting is fun, lots of built in software to sync the lifts to music or games or whatever you want.

I love this mouse

I love this mouse, use Razer Mice for years but a year or so ago I brought a SteelSeries Sensi Wireless mouse kind of spare of the moment and I was very impressed, I went on to my a M800 Keyboard from them.

Best gaming mouse I've ever owned

I spent a lot of time researching mice with lots of extra buttons and was instantly drawn to the layout on the Rival 500. I was having a hard time locating one for sale in my country though. Thankfully some kind stranger on the internet directed me toward this site. This mouse is exactly what I needed for my personal use. Highly recommend if you're looking for a mouse with a large amount of side buttons. The layout is so useful.

Best mouse you can get

I was skeptical at first, I have been a long time fan of the Logitech G700 and what that had to offer. This mouse is an excellent successor to that. I play Escape from Tarkov and World of Warships with it and it is truly fantastic.

SteelSeries Rival 500 Gaming Mouse Review

Gone are the days of normal gaming mice. These days we have gaming mice that are designed

– 15 programmable buttons; – Side buttons are actually functional; – Tactile feedback; – Comfortable design; – Engine 3 software

– Could be too cumbersome for people looking for something more streamlined; – Can only quickswitch two different DPI levels

SteelSeries' Rival 500 gaming mouse reviewed

is a bit of a novelty mouse. Its tactile alerts are useful, but its tiny OLED screen isn't. Unfortunately, while it's a high quality product overall, I discovered a few issues with it in my review. I also thought the Rival 700 was priced too high, possibly because of its gimmicky OLED screen.
