SteelSeries has been busy introducing a few different products including a full rework of their H series of headsets, the new Siberia Elite, and even a new mouse. Superb Quality

I can't get sidetone to work. I suspect that is just operator error though. I have had issues with the microphone intermittently working. Sometimes it would cut out completely, other times it would make me sound like I was underwater, or turned into a robot.

My first SteelSeries purchase, and one I'm very happy with; I wasn't sure about how well 7.1 headsets would work; This one erased those worries; In games like ARMA 3, I could easily hear the faintest of sounds and discern what direction it came from.

Wish the cord was a little bit longer; No eggs off for that though

Durable, versatile, convenient. Good quality. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. My only complaint is the brief moment of panic I had when I couldn't get it to work. This was simply caused by not applying enough force when connecting the cord to the headset itself.

SteelSeries 9H

Today however, I will be taking a look at their 9H gaming headset which features Dolby Pro Logic IIx, in-line audio controls and a retractable noise cancelling microphone.  With the gamer in mind, how well will it perform in not just gaming, but audio and general use also?

SteelSeries 9H Headset Review

SteelSeries is known for their great gaming audio products and the 9H is no exception. It is a long awaited update to the 3h and 5h tournament headsets that were so popular. Here is the box. It details some of the key features.

Great sound; Retractable mic; Noise isolation; Very comfortable; Included DAC and software suite

Included sound card doesn't add much; Never got "too loud"; Price
