I can't get sidetone to work. I suspect that is just operator error though. I have had issues with the microphone intermittently working. Sometimes it would cut out completely, other times it would make me sound like I was underwater, or turned into a robot.

My first SteelSeries purchase, and one I'm very happy with; I wasn't sure about how well 7.1 headsets would work; This one erased those worries; In games like ARMA 3, I could easily hear the faintest of sounds and discern what direction it came from.

Durable, versatile, convenient. Good quality. Pretty much exactly what I was looking for. My only complaint is the brief moment of panic I had when I couldn't get it to work. This was simply caused by not applying enough force when connecting the cord to the headset itself.

There's is no doubt that the SteelSeries 9H is one of the best headsets tested by me in recent months, it sounds great and it's extremely comfortable. The issue is likely to be the price and the fact that one of the accessories needs to be left in the box…
