The Xbox One might be the most advanced new console in terms of features, but the PlayStation 4 has it licked as a dedicated games machine. There's power and potential hidden inside the compact case, and all it's missing are the games to take advantage of it.
Welcome to T3's official PS4 review. The Sony PlayStation 4 has dominated this generation, thanks to the lessons Sony learned from the PS3 and the fact Microsoft spectacularly mishandled the launch of Xbox One .
Excellent console for 1080p gaming; Great controller; Stylish looks; Large games library; Big bang for your buck
Not backwards compatible; More powerful systems exist; So-so multimedia capabilities
The PlayStation 3 is a remarkably different device today than it was seven years ago, when Fatman Scoop showed it to the world. And so will the PlayStation 4 be, seven years from now, probably in ways neither Sony nor I can possibly guess.
Fantastic controller; Handsome console; Simple; game-focused interface
Not enough great games yet; Occasional worrisome performance problems; Interface doesn't scale well for power users
It is probably a silly idea to try to assess the long-term value of a game console right at launch - after all, this is hardware that should be lasting us for five, eight years or more - but it's still an important thing to do considering that these machines are expensive at launch, and nearly...
Editors' Note: Looking for Sony's newest console? Check out our PlayStation 4 Pro review . Ding! Ding! The next round in the console wars has begun. Stylish; compact design; Improved controller; Redesigned user interface easy to use; Faster game installs; Beautiful graphics
Exclusive launch title lineup somewhat weak; Online multiplayer behind a paywall
Slim PS4 looks nice. Form factor is significantly less than the previous generation 500gb. One thing I noticed was the internal fan is either more active, or just a louder fan than the previous model. That being said, its not a dealkiller, but I would prefer it to be quieter.

I bought this PS4 for my son who is 36, he loves it I still have PS2 at 66,that I love both at one time or another came from littlewoods even if it was under a different name like Kay's, still a great catalogue, & the easy yes I mean easy payment schemes, are terrific, so 8 do not need to go any...
I love this console ! . It works perfectly and more importantly quickly. Being able to watch in-game videos in 4k is a huge plus especially since my TV is 4k The console has had no issues so far that I can see other than issues that I believe were due to something else (No picture) .
