Like the Sony HX90 and Sony HX90V announced at the same time, the Sony WX500 is a 'travel compact' camera aimed at people who want a relatively small, light camera with a large lens zoom range.

30x optical zoom; Tilting screen; Small size considering the feature set

No viewfinder; No raw recording; No touch-screen

This camera quality is good but the pop up flash is major flaw in overall design as it does NOT automatically popup even in auto made. This is hard to believe but it will not work for family photos. its also flimsy and will break thanks

Amazing Camera

This is an amazing camera. It has most of the features of a bigger camera like de DSH-HX300 or 400 but in a smaller package. The flip up screen feature for selfies is great. I highly recommend this camera if you are looking for a smaller easy to handle camera with great features and amazing zoom.

Sony Cyber-shot WX500 Review

The Sony Cyber-shot WX500 is the little brother to the HX90 , with the same 30x optical zoom lens and 18.2 megapixel sensor, it cuts down on a few features, making it a more affordable version. The WX500 still benefits from the same tilting screen, making it great for selfies and group shots.

30x optical zoom lens; Tilting 3inch screen; Incredibly compact considering the 30x optical zoom lens; Good colour and reliable exposure; Optical image stabilisation; Fast continuous shooting; Very good battery life

Lacks front grip; Noise in all images (although not too excessive at ISO400 or below; Competitors are available for less

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX500

Want a 30x optical zoom in the smallest possible package? Sony has the camera for you. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX500 isn't much larger than the 20x WX350, yet it packs 30x zoom, a tiltable screen, a pop-up flash and a colossal 400-shot capacity battery.

Good value for money

I bought this camera 2 weeks ago and started working with it straight away, at various locations such as during a marathon, in a pub, in a museum, in the garden. The results so far have always been satisfactory: sharp pictures, even without flashlight, and the camera is relatively easy to work with.

This is perfect for my use, compact and packed with features. I originally bought the Yi M1 mirrorless camera, which I was so disappointed I returned it due to a terrible app. This app is so good, from remote control to NFC one Touch to my Google Pixel phone, and automatically transfers the new...

The camera looks great. Lightweight

The camera looks great. Lightweight, easy to carry, very smooth in taking selfies. Pictures are great, loving it. The handling strap is not that powerful, so handle with care. The delivery was on time(Prime).

Great Camera

This is a great compact camera. Lens quality is excellent, easy to handle. Took it on a trip to South America, and used it for stills, movies, panoramas with ease. Flip screen is very helpful; screen hard to view in bright sunlight.
