As a dedicated Canon user and having a somewhat lesser view off Sony historically, I have to say this is a brilliant product. Slightly noisier in low light than I would have preferred but that is not to say I am probably being picky, used to Pro cameras as I am.

For a wildlife shooter and at times a sports shooter I have not found a camera that has given me the ability to stop a bird in flight. To freeze a surfer on a maneuver that would make you feel that this has one big wow. I have focused on a insect and a jet flying.

Calling the RX10 IV a “bridge camera” does it a disservice – it’s a fantastic choice for those who want a well-rounded, do-it-all camera, especially for travel. Wildlife photographers also benefit from the long lens and fast frame rates. You pay a premium to own it, though.

The RX10 IV updates Sony's high-end Bridge Super-zoom retaining its predecessor's 24-600mm / 25x zoom, weather-proof body and OLED EVF, but inheriting the RX100 V's sensor for phase-detect AF, 24fps bursts and 4k without binning.

One of the most exciting advances in camera technology seen in the last year can be found on the Sony RX10 II and RX100 IV . And the improved performance has nothing to do with resolution, high ISO performance or dynamic range.

Like the changes of the seasons, Sony's excellence is becoming an unstoppable phenomenon. A large part of this is the company's excellent sensor technology, and that includes this 1in marvel.

After spending a few hours with the RX10 IV, we're very impressed with this camera so far. The improved AF-perhaps its biggest selling point-was incredibly quick during our field tests.
