A Fantastic Full-Frame Camera

I found the Sony A7Riii the best mirrorless full frame camera on the market today. I did extensive research on the Nikon and Canon offerings in this class and they both fell short of the Sony. The 42mb sensor is amazing - if you need that kind of resolution.

Compact and light body while feeling sturdy and substantial in the hands

Convoluted menu system; no intervalometer; lenses are more expenses than Sony's competitors

Sony A7R III Review: Sony Gives Its High-Resolution Mirrorless Camera a Burst of Speed

There are a variety of new things under the Sony A7R III's hood, including the ability to shoot 10 frames per second (fps) continuous bursts of images at full resolution, 4K video recording across the width of its full-frame sensor, longer battery life, and a host of other features.

Sony A7R III Quick Review: A Less Ridiculous A9

When Sony unveiled its top-tier flagship full-frame A9 , we wondered when the camera's top-tier features would trickle down to lower-priced models. Surprisingly enough Sony didn't take long to announce the A7R III, which had many of the same features that made the A9 great in a slightly cheaper...

On paper, Sony's $3,200 full-frame mirrorless Alpha A7R III is a beast. With an ultra-high-res 42.4-megapixel sensor that can shoot bursts at 10 fps, you can capture landscape photos one day and sports the next.

Sony A7R III

The Sony Alpha 7R III is Sony's latest high-resolution, full-frame mirrorless camera. It offers impressive all-round specifications, with a 42.4MP sensor, 10fps continuous shooting, a hybrid AF system that employs 399 phase-detection points covering approximately 68% of the frame, and 4K video...

Phenomenal image quality in almost any situation; Extremely fast and responsive; Compact; lightweight design with well-placed controls; Superb electronic viewfinder; In-body image stabilisation gives sharper images with any lens

AF area is invisible when moved using the joystick; Rear screen only tilts up or down; Handgrip too close to the lens for shooting with gloves

Welcome to the great digital mirrorless camera divide. The Sony a7R Mk III full-frame has been touted as the camera that will turn full-frame DSLR professional photographers and camera owners away from their trusted – but bulky – full-frame set ups to the lighter-weight, feature-laden, mirrorless...

Image quality; image quality; image quality – fabulous; Flexibility – will suit wedding; events; street and landscape photographers in particular; Impressive autofocus performance; Much improved battery life; A market leader in full-frame; interchangeable lens; mirrorless cameras; Great viewfinder –...

Too complicated – the menus; in particular; are very difficult to work out; Very expensive – and as such asks a big question; Very slow in clearing image buffer; The grip could be a little wider (particularly if hefting a large telephoto lens around; UHS-II cards supported in only one of the two SD...

Sony Alpha A7R III review: quite simply one of the best cameras in the world

The combination of 42.2MP, 10fps burst shooting and a very sophisticated AF system makes this a very attractive camera indeed: Sony has taken an already excellent mirrorless camera and made it even better.

42.2MP at 10fps; 5-axis IS system; Fast autofocus

Battery could be better

Sony Alpha A7R III review: Mirrorless, but certainly not pointless

You need a lot of patience to review cameras. You also need some time, you need to be in a place that inspires you and you need good luck. Getting all these together is rare. In the two weeks I have had with the Sony Alpha 7R III, I have had a mix of one or two of the three, and a couple of rare...

Sony A7R III

The Sony A7R III sees improvements in pretty much every area: physical design features, image quality, speed and performance, as well as video recording capabilities and battery life.

Fantastic image quality; Improved dynamic range over its predecessor; Very good high ISO performance; Much improved real-world AF performance; Class-leading burst rates, even with RAW; Improved 5-axis in-body image stabilization; Better 4K video quality; 1080/120fps video; Dual card slots;...

Expensive; Menus still confusing; UHS-II support only on one card slot; No optical low-pass filter means greater risk of moire; No built-in flash; Buffer clearing still slow despite UHS-II support, Only one card slot is UHS-II compatible, Buffer clearing can still be slow even with fast UHS-II...
