Pretty amazing

I am a video guy, so I almost never take photos. This works great with 4k with focus assist. I wish the screen were bigger but I guess if you are doing a bigger production you would have a monitor. The negatives are that this thing eats batteries especially when recording video.

An available light photographer's first choice.

This is an expensive product but if you want a full-frame mirrorless that handles low light situations well, this is it. If focuses extraordinarily well in almost no light, better than anything else I have used for sure.

Easy To Use; Excellent In Low Light; Good Sized Screen; Nice Features and Settings

Bad Battery Life; Expensive; Resolution

Read various reviews of whining on small buttons and difficult menus, but I myself think that the menus, you learn that at any other camera at any time, and the buttons feel solid and distinct. Coming from Canon or Nikon, you learn about, nothing more to it.

Fantastic For Video

Amazing camera for video! If you are looking for photography look at the A7II or the A7RII. Though this camera will still take awesome stills if you are just at a family event or for some Behind the Scenes photos. Internal 4K and Slog3 is fantastic!

Easy to use; Compact; Build quality; Screen size

Battery life

Awesome Quality Camera

Most highly recommend ! You will not be disappointed!

Just about everything; I have a GH-4 I use for 4K Video and this I also use for video, but the stills are amazing; Low Light King ! Exudes quality in every aspect! Great Price

Battery Life No fully articulating touchscreen The menu system should be a little more intuitive Not many native lenses, but many more coming; Soem G Master Series just released

Sony A7S II review

The A7S II is certainly more of a specialist's camera than its sibling the A7R II. I think the latter is a better all-round performer and a superior buy for the more general shooter, but if you're looking for a compact system camera that offers class-leading low light performance and...

Superb video quality; Great in low light conditions; Metal-bodied toughness

It's really expensive

Sony Alpha A7S Mark II Full Review

At the "core" of the Sony Alpha A7S Mark II is the same full-frame 12 megapixel CMOS sensor from the A7S, which offers an extended ISO range of ISO50 up to ISO409,600 (Native ISO100 to ISO102,400).

Improved handling and design; Excellent image quality; Excellent ISO range; 4K video can be recorded internally; MicroUSB charging / power; 5-axis image stabilisation; Wi-Fi and NFC; Sony PlayMemories Apps; Dual-axis electronic level

12 megapixels may not be enough for stills photographers; Camera video fussy about memory cards; Shorter battery life than previous model; Focus struggled in low-light at times

I have owned a A7s for 18 months and love it. While I do take a lot of photographs my main interest is video. I live and travel on a sailboat and spend time in remote locations. I needed a new second camera and decided to stay with Sony. I have only used it a few days, but so far it's great.

Sony ILCE-7SM2 a7S II

We didn't get to review the original Sony ILCE-7S (α7S) camera, which was released in April 2014 so it's nice to receive its successor, the α7S Mark II, which was announced on 11 September 2015. The updated camera improves on its predecessor in several important ways.

Sony a7S II Review

Thanks for a VERY intelligent & fantastic review; seems I've been lucky to find 2 honest and thorough reviewers of wonderfull photofilm-webpages ! This other reviewer, Andrew Reid, found out in september, that a dark spot appeared where the sun was captured on the Alpha7S2's video (actually just a...
