These are truly amazing headphones. I wanted to buy a pair of very high quality closed back headphones and these are perfect. I am the first to admit that I'm addicted to headphones and own AKG, Beyer, Sony, and Sennheiser cans. The sound is phenomenal, and they're very comfortable.

Wow, so much to say. But I'll keep it short: 1. Packaging from B&H was perfect. Arrived without a scratch 2. The hardened case, contoured foam and zip pockets for the cables are well planned out. Great to take on a flight if necessary 3.

So, Shure 1540s, excellent mids, very good imaging, just "Ok" isolation and leakage control, but a little bit too much bass. They are indeed enjoyable headphones and one of the most comfortable headphones I have ever put on BUT sadly, at this point in time, they are not for me.

We have consistently been impressed by Shure's range of headphones, and have reviewed the SRH440 , SRH840 , SRH940 , SRH1440 , and the SRH1840 over the span of many years. Each model was great, with somewhat different strengths or weaknesses based on its price point or suitability to task.
