I've owned the GSX 300 for just under a year at the time of this review and all I can say that this DAC would've been fair for its price but the product is just completely plagued with design issues and faults. For months now, many owners of the GSX 300 including myself have been facing repeated issues where the DAC randomly shuts itself off and has to be unplugged/plugged in again to restore working order. On top of this, there is a chance that the DAC completely glitches out which results in a TERRIBLY loud crackling static mess that can be fixed the same way as before. The audio driver/software is not that great; it is common for some of your settings not to save for the next time you launch your desktop, meaning you have to set it all up again. In the end, my DAC finally decided to break itself and refuse to turn itself back on at the time of review, just less than a year of owning it. This is an audio enhancing gadget that does what is says it does. It is wonderfully small and looks quite cool. I don't game, I just wanted better sound out of my computer and it does indeed make the sound louder (though not hugely loud if that is what you are going for) and better quality. Works well with my old computer speakers

I'm using Sennheiser GSP 500 headphones for gaming and always though that the sound levels were too low, I decided to try this unit after numerous attempts at adjusting the levels. All I can say is that I thoroughly recommend this device, it's simplicity of use and excellent game enhancement is well worth the purchase. DayZ especially has become far more immersive, and rather less chance of getting ambushed,

This lil beaut has made all gaming and music a dream from my PC, wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to upgrade from the basic motherboard driven sound, it's so worth it.

Bought this as my PC always has static noise on microphone port. Now no noise on my mic plus easy to configure warm/clear tone on mic. Sure the sound is noticeably nicer than built-in sound card too.

Good addition to the computer. Improves sound. Not as much gain on volume and quality as I would have expected, but still worthwhile.
