Although I've only owned owned this for three weeks, it's nt the first one I've owned, so I guess I can spread from long-term experience. I needed a hard drive for backups, and it works. What else is there to say. It isn't particularly fast but It's ok for Apple Time Machine.

I Brought This Just Over A Month Ago And It Is A Great Product Quick And Quiet Tranfer Of Data

I have several computers on my network and required additional backup for critical docs, without having to set up another raid array. My array has 5x4TB hard drives installed and manage in a Drobo. Although the array is super efficient it is also super expensive., however well worth it as 2 disks can fail without data loss. The seagate can be written to and then powered off saving disc spin time therefore extending the disc life. Ideal also for a portable data expansion for my laptop.
