Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

Like the headline implies, Samsung has improved on this version of the Fold so much. The build quality of the chassis and hinge feel so much better than their first outing, the extension of the Cover Screen makes for a better overall experience with the device, and there are just so many use cases...

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

The thing is, for the Rs 1,49,999 that you are paying for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G, you get an undoubtedly unique and undeniably premium smartphone experience. It learns from the predecessor and that truly shows. Yes, you may take some getting used to the form factor, as it folds and unfolds.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

As we mentioned earlier at the beginning of this review, this is not a phone that can be easily recommended to consumers. At the price of RM7999, this is obviously a device that's aimed at wealthy lifestyle consumers.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

It’s been two years since the first foldable phones captured the imagination of people, but I still get curious looks whenever I pull one out, like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 I’ve been trying out lately.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

Does the Z Fold 2 finally keep the foldable phones' promise for an everyday display AND a larger one when you need it, all in one pocketable device? A PhoneArena review...

Head-turning; bragging-rights form factor used for added multitasking value; Keeps the small-to-big foldable phones' promise thanks to the large Cover Display; Smooth scrolling and interface on the first foldable 120Hz display; Very usable with one hand on the go when closed; Smooth performance,...

More expensive than the OG Fold with twice less base storage; Still a thick and heavy phone to carry around; especially with a case on; Squished and tiny keyboard on the narrow cover screen; Taking selfies with the main camera could be less convoluted a process; 8K video-capable processor but no...

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

In a year nobody could’ve predicted, where each day seemed hell-bent on eclipsing the former with fresh horror, surprise, or both, it’s been tough to stand out as a category-defining gadget.

Foldable display actually feels usable now; Multitasking on a tablet-like screen is great; Build quality is more reassuring; This feels like what the future could be

Very expensive; Cameras not up to Samsung's non-folding flagships; Foldable display still requires some TLC; Third-party apps still have to catch up

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

I really enjoyed my time with the Z Fold 2 and despite not liking its bulkiness and weight it's my favourite Android phone currently on the market

Great design; The best foldable smartphone; mulit-tasking great

So expensive; Heaviest phone on the market; Lacks waterproofing

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

Are you kidding me… pic.twitter.com/hRV0aU9B3H If you want the best phone of the year, then look no further than the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Minus an S Pen and just an “okay” camera system, this monster can handle anything and everything.

Almost the perfect device; Cover display is useful; Software optimizations are good enough; The best phone of 2020

$2,000 is a lot of dough; Cameras are good but not the best; The plastic screen protector is awful

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G - Bronze SM-F916BZNAXNZ review

Much larger cover screen; 120Hz display; more refined design; larger interior display; 5G support

Big; heavy; no official dust or water resistance rating; extremely expensive

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G review

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G is a glimmer of hope that foldable phones can be excellent. It isn’t the best camera phone around, nor does it charge the fastest - but who cares? It folds and doesn’t do anything badly. Everything the Z Fold 2 does, it does at least well. It’s reassuring (glorious-looking) design delights every time you look at it, and the masterful hinge makes the two-in-one functionality we’ve been craving a reality. A handsome front-display only adds to the utility and enjoyment the phone delivers. At £1,799 for the 256GB storage version, it doesn’t matter how good it is; the Galaxy Z Fold 2 won’t appeal to most people. Nevertheless, the annals of technology history will remember the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 as the first foldable that was great - all-fold, no caveats.

Great screens; Solid hinge mechanism; Plenty of power;

Visible crease; Expensive; Good, but not great cameras;
