Samsung Galaxy Watch4 40mm Silver SM-R860NZSAXNZ review

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4’s sharp design, smart software and standout health sensor make for a promising upgrade that somehow costs less than last year’s version. Plus the Classic model still offers everyone’s favorite rotating bezel.

Slimmer design and new watch faces, New Wear OS feels like Tizen, but with more apps, First major smartwatch with body composition analysis, More affordable than Galaxy Watch 3

Concerns with BIA sensor, Battery life can be inconsistent

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 review: The first take of a great future idea

I'd love to say the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, which starts at $250 (£249), delivers the ultimate Android watch experience. I can't quite say that, but it's close. After wearing Samsung's newest watches for two weeks, however, I've liked it more over time. It's the first to run a whole new Google Wear OS co-designed by Samsung and Google, and while I'd say the future looks promising, the present looks a little unresolved. In a sense, my final feelings now are still pretty similar to my first few days wearing them.

This might be the best Android watch right now, but it's still missing a few pieces.

Lots of health-tracking features; Excellent display, fast processor; New Google OS includes Play apps; Great watch faces so far;

ECG and blood pressure features require a Samsung phone to use; Samsung Health still the default health app; Has Bixby instead of Google Assistant; Only 1-2 days of battery life;

Samsung Galaxy Watch Series 4 R860 (40mm, Black) - BRAND NEW review

Really good, can easily receive and make calls. Can read incoming messages and emails and reply using surprisingly accurate voice-to-text. Waterproof so don't need to take it off to shower. Finally a useful smart watch, will be better when Google Assistant app comes

Samsung Galaxy Watch Series 4 R860 (40mm, Black) - BRAND NEW review

Only nitpicks are: Battery could be a little better (but isnt too bad) No Google Assistant (yet.. 2021/10) No way to proactively send FB/WhatsApp messages tho replies are available (yet.. 2021/10) But what the watch does do it does very well :)

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Review

Samsung made significant changes to its smartwatch lineup this year, switching from Tizen to Wear OS, rebranding its Active line, and following Apple's lead by releasing two models to accommodate different budgets. Its efforts have paid off, as the $249.99 Galaxy Watch4 and the $349.99 Watch4 Classic are the best Samsung watches to date. The Galaxy Watch4, reviewed here, is the company's answer to the Apple Watch SE. But unlike the SE, which looks the same as the Series 6 but lacks some its key features, the Watch4 does everything the Classic model can, but is made of aluminum instead of stainless steel and has a digital bezel instead of a physical one. It offers notable upgrades from the Watch3, including a faster processor for smoother scrolling, a higher-resolution display for crisper visuals, expanded memory for music and app storage, a sensor that can measure your body fat, and the ability to track your snoring. Attractively designed, feature-rich, and priced right, the Samsu...

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 is the best Android-compatible smartwatch for the price, offering the same specs and features as the Classic model for $100 less.

Competitively priced; Bright, sharp display; Thinner than the Classic model; Fast processor; Wrist-based body fat and composition measurements; Tracks snoring; More third-party apps than previous Samsung watches

One-day battery life; Third-party app selection still trails Apple's watchOS

Samsung Galaxy Watch Series 4 R860 (40mm, Silver) - BRAND NEW review

There's no doubting that the Galaxy Watch 4 is another solid smartwatch from Samsung. It's slick, looks good and performs well in most departments. This is supposed to be a Samsung smartwatch, with Google software flowing through it, but right now it feels very familiar.

Nice, minimalist design, Good price, Feature packed, Slick performance

Samsung Galaxy Watch Series 4 R860 (40mm, Silver) - BRAND NEW review

So my previous watch was a Samsung Galaxy Active which was great until I went swimming with it and it is really NOT waterproof so lesson learned on that one and this one is not coming swimming with me! The Samsung Galaxy 4 is a great improvement.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Series 4 R860 (40mm, Black) - BRAND NEW review

Great watch. My wife loves it. A fairly steep learning curve for those a little ‘technically’ developing.
