Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 review

It may not have the same app availability as Wear OS watches, but the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is one of the best you can buy right now.

Rotating bezel; Two-day battery life; Advanced fitness tracking;

Expensive; Lack of third-party apps; Same processor as first-gen Watch;

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (45MM, Black, Cellular) - Refurbished (Excellent) review

The key selling point for Samsung Galaxy Watches has always been the fact they actually look like timepieces. Unlike the square Apple Watch – which has always looked a bit too much like a Blake’s 7 or Star Trek communicator for my liking – the Galaxy Watch 3 has a spherical touch screen design that,...

Super swish design, Solid fitness and health tracking, Decent smartwatch functionality

Battery life could be better

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (45MM, Black, Cellular) - Refurbished (Excellent) review

The Samsung Galaxy Watch follows the tradition of the Galaxy Gear S smartwatch line with a new brand and a new outlook on life. The Galaxy Watch uses the newest version of Tizen to deliver a wrist-bound smart wearable device experience that’s both powerful and feels natural.

Comfortable fit with standard strap, Buttons and dial are easy (and fun) to use, Classic yet current look and feel, Automatic activity tracking is simple and helpful, Tizen is smooth and ready for prime-time

Doesn't come in all-black, Needs 4 apps to connect to non-Samsung Android, Limited functionality with iPhone, No MST for Samsung Pay (uses NFC instead)

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (45MM, Black, Cellular) - Refurbished (Excellent) review

With the Galaxy Watch, Samsung is probably presenting the best smartwatch for an Android smartphone. And it doesn't run on Android at all. The battery life is very good, Tizen OS is even better adapted to the round design and some new features have been added.

Great battery life, Fast operating system, Numerous functions, Good workmanship

Limitations without a Samsung smartphone

Samsung Galaxy Watch3 4G 41mm Mystic Bronze SM-R855FZDAXNZ review

With an ECG app and trip detection, the Samsung Galaxy Watch3 offers significant health-focused upgrades over its predecessors, and is one of the best alternatives to the Apple Watch.

Beautiful classic watch design; Rotating physical bezel for easy navigation; Bright; sharp screen; New health and safety features; including an ECG app and trip detection; Auto detects select exercises; Lots of watch face options

Blood pressure app may not be available in the US; Missing some popular third-party apps; Not all features work on iOS; Relatively short battery life

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 review: Fitness and finesse

The second-gen Galaxy Watch refines rather than reinvents the design of the original, delivering a more feature-packed wrist-worn wearable with additional finesse. It is pricier this time around though.

Attractive design and fully round screen; Smaller and lighter than original; Rotating bezel is brilliant; Great running tracking features;

Battery life isn't great; Third-party music apps are slow and inconsistent; Not as many popular apps/services as Apple Watch/Wear OS;

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 review: The (other) smartwatch you should buy

If you own an Android phone, which smartwatch should you buy? The answer isn’t as obvious as you might think. You can’t use the shoe-in choice, the iOS-powered Apple Watch, which is unchallenged at the top of our smartwatch recommendation list. Samsung hopes the new Galaxy Watch 3 can fill the role. After all, it shares many of the attractive aspects of the Apple Watch. It comes in two sizes, and has a good design, strong software, and a unique control system. That makes it an easy recommendation for Android phone owners — with one caveat. You need to be happy to spend a pretty big sum to get one, foibles and all. I’ve been wearing the 45mm Galaxy Watch 3, which has a chronograph style and is slightly more masculine than the 41mm model. It also has softer design features for a less overtly sporty look. It weighs 53 grams (0.12 pounds) and is 11mm (0.43 inches) thick. Initially, its overall size made me lean toward the 41mm version as my preferred model, but the larger of the two has pr...

Stylish, traditional watch looks; Attractive, reliable software; Brilliant rotating bezel aces the control system; Comprehensive health-tracking features; Solid battery life;

Questionable fitness-tracking accuracy; Slow battery charging;

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (45MM, Black, Cellular) - Refurbished (Excellent) review

The Galaxy Watch 4 is Samsung’s best smartwatch to date, but annoying restrictions mean it’s less appealing than it should be

Impressive performance, Access to more apps than before, Attractively priced

Mediocre battery life, No ECG unless you have a Samsung phone, Doesn’t offer all Wear OS features

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (45MM, Black, Cellular) - Refurbished (Excellent) review

Samsung's premium smartwatch is a jack of all trades, master of many....

Fantastic display and rotating bezel, Thinner, lighter design, Two-day battery life, Advanced running metrics can be super helpful, Useful sleep tracking and insights

GPS and HR sensors can be inaccurate, No MST payments with Samsung Pay, Big price increase over original Galaxy Watch, Setup process for non-Samsung phones is a pain, Third-party app support is lacking
