Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung continues their reign over the Android smartphone market with their flagship phone – the Galaxy S5 . While Samsung doesn't stray too far from its recognizable plastic design, they did add a dimpled back texture to address concerns over the slipperiness of the earlier model.

Bright display with excellent contrast; bright light legibility and color accuracy; 16MP rear-facing camera takes sharp and crisp bright light photos; Excellent battery life; IP67 rating

Slow startup on certain apps like the camera and settings; Uninspired plastic design; Poor auto-brightness

Overall I am happy with this phone

Overall I am happy with this phone. The only hesitation I have is that when it is on speakerphone, the person I am talking to experiences distracting extra noises.

Flagship (mostly) fantastic: Samsung's Galaxy S5 reviewed

Samsung's fifth Galaxy model is here, and poised to take on whatever Apple has next, as well as anything else from the other manufacturers. For the new model, Samsung has revised the look, the hardware, and so much more. Is this Samsung's best phone yet

Fast system performance; Textured back makes it easy to grip; Beautiful screen; Excellent 4G performance; Water and dust resistant; Still features a remote control; Built-in heart rate monitor is a neat idea; Amazing screen that works beautifully in direct sunlight; Monochromatic power saving option...

Australians are given virtually no control over customizing their handset; Battery life needs work; The occasional slow down tends to rear its head in the worst possible way; Remote control can't learn from unknown remotes; My Magazine seems less customisable than HTC's BlinkFeed

Samsung's Galaxy S5 smartphone is a significant new device that has raised the bar with an updated design and a range of key new features. Samsung has taken a measured approach with the S5 and delivered a refined product that has made improvements in the right places.

Replaced my clumsy, slow, and battery-draining Note 4 to this delicacy. After a day of intensive use I'm sitting here with half battery left. It responds quickly even in the power saving mode, which Note 4 did not. The screen is sufficient for film and it does not feel like a brick in your pocket.

For the past 4 years, there is an event that most phone geeks look forward to; the announcement of the latest Samsung Galaxy S flagship. Ever since the launch of the original Galaxy S smartphone which was a big success for a flagship device at the time, we have all waited to see what Samsung brings...

Sharp and vibrant screen with good sunlight legibility; Great audio quality; Good build quality; Waterproof and dustproof; Great camera quality; Fingerprint Scanner; Good performance; Expandable memory (Upto 128GB; Removable Battery

No dedicated camera key; Loudspeaker is a bit low on volume; The back cover pattern may not impress everyone; Above average battery life

Review: Samsung GALAXY S5

The Samsung GALAXY S5 packs in an impressive screen. The camera and waterproof body are two more strong points of this phone. What brings it down is the cluttered interface and noticeable lag in performing certain tasks (in spite of a powerful octa-core processor).

Suprb screen; Good all-round camera; Great sound quality; Waterproof body; Good battery life

Doesn't look premium; Gaudy UI; Noticeable lag at some places; Uncomfortable for single-handed use; Expensive

Samsung Galaxy S5 review: Surpassing Apple iPhone 5s with brilliant performance, stunning camera

Samsung has had a great start to 2014. First the Galaxy Note 3 Neo and now their flagship – the Galaxy S5. Samsung's new poster boy has already received tremendous response in the short time that it launched. It already outsold Apple's iPhone 5s in the US on the launch weekend.

There are some phones that make you stand up and take notice, well, even before you lay your hands on them – the Samsung Galaxy S5 is definitely a part of that league. This fifth generation slugger has a lot on offer – an improved camera, a new processor under the hood, totally revamped software,...
