Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

Hey there, the world's most specc'd-out camera phone, Galaxy S21 Ultra ! When Samsung announced your predecessor with a 108MP camera sensor, 5x periscope zoom and 5,000mAh battery, we thought this can't be beat!

The longest, cleanest zoom on a phone, and most versatile camera set, The best battery life in its class, Brightest display with the most granular adaptive refresh rate, Stylish Contour Cut design and richer variety of colors, Unique 12-bit color RAW capture at 108MP, S Pen stylus support, Next-gen...

Still big and bulky to carry and use, especially with an S Pen case on, $1200 gets you just 128GB, no charger, earbuds, or memory card slot, The new ultrasonic finger scanner is still comparatively slow, Softness in the main camera sample edges

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is a no-holds-barred uber-flagship with sizeable proportions and a high price, but for your money, you get the most uncompromisingly capable smartphone on the market right now

Best camera phone to date, Excellent performance, Lighter than expected, Great battery life, Beautiful display

No charger may irk some, Loss of microSD slot, It’s big, Price

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

Samsung are one of the most popular brands of AndroidSmartphones. As with most recent Smartphones the main advances are made with the cameras and for that reason you could say this is a camera phone as a lot of people no longer bother to carry a camera day to day.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is definitely one of the most expensive non-foldable flagships on the market. It is €100 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and €50 cheaper than the iPhone 12 Pro Max when those were released.

Daring , bold design, AMOLED WQHD+ 120 Hz screen is sublime, Improved Exynos 2100 chipset, Versatile camera module, Fantastic 10x zoom, Great battery life and performance, Fluid OneUI 3.1 interface is feature-rich

Exynos 2100 does not outperform the Snapdragon 888 SoC, No charger included, No microSD slot, 25-watt fast charging only, S-Pen is nearly redundant, Expensive (although cheaper than the S20 Ultra)

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

After what I considered to be a year of disappointing phones for Samsung in 2020, the company seems to have redeemed itself with its first flagships of 2021. The Galaxy S21 Ultra, much like its smaller siblings, is $200 cheaper than its predecessor, and it hardly makes any compromises to get there -...

Design and finish, Excellent display and sound, Great zoom capabilities, Solid battery life for Exynos, $200 cheaper than last year

Camera's night mode could, be better, Disappointing Wi-Fi reception, No charger in the box

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

As mentioned at the beginning, there’s a lot to like about the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Its sticker price is still the main reason why most people stay away, but if you’re a smartphone enthusiast looking for the best Samsung has to offer, this phone will definitely make you smile.

Great Display, Good Battery life, Amazing Cameras, Unique Design

Adriddled Software, Cheaper but still expensive

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

Ultra strong! The Galaxy S21 Ultra is the king among kings within Samsung's new high-end flagship series. It features the largest and brightest display with the highest resolution, the largest battery, and the most versatile camera.

extremely bright OLED display, 120 Hz and WQHD+, high system performance, good camera setup, Wi-Fi 6E, dual SIM with 5G and eSIM, good call quality, S Pen support

storage not expandable, VHT160 Wi-Fi not particularly fast or stable, games are FPS-bound, missing Bluetooth audio codecs, 5G without mmWave

Great overall, but let down by the camera

I upgraded to the S21 Ultra from a Note9. I was looking for a phone with a similar size and weight, but with much better camera features. I don't know if this is a software issue, but there are often times with the S21 Ultra where the camera simply does not focus, which is infuriating when trying to capture a candid moment. I never experienced that with the Note9. I've also found that a lot of indoor pics at even 3.0x are splotchy and not at all sharp. Before you ask, yes I did remove the film from the camera lenses after unboxing. I haven't changed the camera settings from the default, so maybe that is where the problem lies.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G (128GB, Black) AU - Pristine review

It’s big, powerful and very capable. If you’re after the very best Samsung Galaxy S21 model and money is no object, the Ultra is the one for you. It’s a big upgrade over the S20 Ultra, fixing the focus issues and improving battery life.

Great screen thanks to WQHD+ and 120Hz, Much-improved design with an attractive finish, Far more versatile camera than the iPhone 12 Pro Max

Expensive, with many cheaper phones offering the same features, Big and heavy, No charger included
