Nice microphone

Clean, clear sound, low noise. Rugged construction. A great addition to my home studio.

"This is a good microphone from a good company."

This is a very honest, nuetral-sounding mic. I've used it as a live drummer's vocal mic in a rock band, as a distant stage mic for live theater recording, and as a mono drum overhead mic live. I expected it to be a special-purpose, odd sort of mic, but it sounds at least good on everything so far.

Great Microphone

I purchased 4 of these microphones to be used in house of worship. i produce DVDS for the shut ins and use these mikes to record the congregation. They work fantastic with a narrow angle of acceptance and high sensitivity. The reproduction is very clear , full bodied, and low microphone noise.

Making TV Better In a 'Short' Way

Recently, I acquired a Sony PXW-X70 and needed to find a quality mic in a compact design and without breaking the bank. This camera would be primarily used for recording outings/trips that would end up on some Hunting/Fishing TV shows so I knew that I need to invest in a quality mic.

View Datasheets OVERALL OPINION I have just acquired a NTG 1 to replace an ERM II-86 that produced too much breath. Today I was able to plug into a SQN4 the Rode and a 416 and a Sony ECM-XM1 mount on a Z7.

Fantastic Mic !

I did my research before buying the Rode NTG-1 and I learned it would help eliminate excess noise. I live next to a busy street and I was looking for mic that wouldn't pick up the noise coming into my booth of which I'm in the process of upgrading.
