Rode NT4 Stereo Mic Customer Review

I use it for recording ambience and sound effects for a game studio. This thing rocks, so much more sensitive than anything I have used before. I can pick up outdoor ambience perfectly now.

Still getting to know this mic...

Only got it last week and have run it through a few test sessions. Some indoors and today used it outdoors to capture acoustic guitar and vocals. Very clean sound. Balanced. Seems to be not quite as sensitive as I thought it might be (needs a little more gain from the SD702) but sounds good.

Good for small ensemble

I sing in an acappella quartet and it works fine for our needs. Thanks.

Easy to use but slightly limited by fixed capsule positions.

I bought this microphone when I was still using a Sony MZR700 (portable MiniDisc recorder) as a fie

Revealing, mono-compatible sound; battery powered; multiple cables for maximum compatibility; decent storage case

Included cables are sort of short (build your own with the stock connectors!

Stereo was never easier

After fiddling with "matched" mics for years, I gave the dual element NT4 a try. In short, I'm never going back. Setup is now a 5 minute affair - not 25 minutes. It's a sound, rugged product that's put my more expensive matched sets in the storage cases.

Good and excellent micro Q / P

Static stereo OH used for OVERALL OPINION For over a year. Not tried other stereo models. The +: no pb phase, practice (eg for OH)
