Roborock S6 MaxV Review

Adding cameras to spot and avoid obstacles sounds like a fantastic idea as it should mean that you don't have to go around the house picking up objects before cleaning. In our tests the Roborock S6 MaxV was only partially successful, avoiding shoes and pet mess but pushing a food bowl around the kitchen. Powerful cleaning, maintenance mopping and incredible map control help make up for this but the overall price means that there are better robot vacuum cleaners for most people.

Flexible and powerful mapping; Powerful vacuuming; Mopping cleans up hard floors;

Object detection quality varies; Can't avoid carpets automatically;

Roborock S6 Max V review

This is an impressive robot cleaner, with great suction and a host of high-end features. It's pricey, yes, but you'll get a lot for your money.

Roborock S6 MaxV review: More cameras means more intelligent cleaning

With additional features designed to enhance cleaning performance, avoid any pet poops, improve user experience and add more intelligence, this robot vacuum is certainly a capable device.

Intelligent convenient design; Feature-rich setup; Smart AI-powered cameras; Mopping and cleaning with ease; Multi-floor mapping;

Some obstacle misidentification; Occassional mishaps with pushing obstacles about;

Roborock S6 MaxV Review: It can find and avoid your socks

Robot vacuums save time, which is something we could all use. In the world of robot vacuums, innovations have continually tacked on more conveniences, including bots that empty their dustbins on their own and two-in-one models that mop. Despite all these advancements, some lack the smarts to intelligently avoid clutter around the home. The Roborock S6 MaxV is hoping to change that, thanks to a pair of cameras that are powered by Reactive AI obstacle recognition and a Qualcomm chip. Can it actually dodge and weave? Or does it still run headfirst into trouble? Giving the Roborock S6 MaxV a whirl for the first time, I was anxious to see if it could intelligently avoid or clean around obstacles. It certainly looks the part. First, there’s an elevated disc on top that tucks away the bot’s lidar navigation system, which is used to map rooms. From there, it proceeds to vacuum floors, while two cameras in front capture images at 30 frames per second (FPS) for obstacle avoidance. Typically befo...

Efficient cleaning; Strong suction power; Long battery life; Accurate map layouts;

Has trouble recognizing some obstacles; It's pricey;

Wave hand vacuuming good bye

Best appliance we have ever bought. It manages dirt, dust and pet hair well with its outstanding suction power and easily cleans up to two hours in a strategic way before taking itself back to the docking station. We don't use the mopping function. We did take out Harvey Norman Product Care which has served us well in the past and extends the warranty by several years.
