If you don’t have room for a smart doorbell or aren’t allowed to drill holes, then the Ring Door View Cam is a smart upgrade for an existing peephole and can be installed in a matter of minutes. It has all the quality features that we expect from Ring, including full HD video and clear audio. The lack of Google Assistant support is disappointing and the camera moves with the front door, making a traditional doorbell placement a better choice if that’s an option. That said, this product fills a sizeable niche and does a brilliant job.

Pros. Device setup easy. Camera image great. Cons. Fire rated door of 55mm width too wide for install. App performance (which is dependent on phone type) gives inconsistent notifications.

This model can only be installed on a front door....therefore no security door possible as would prevent visitors using the door bell itself

bought it and still need to return the item as is only made for doors with a peep hole in them without a flyscreen door as well. Needed a stand alone one.

Very happy with product ^^ easy to replace the peep hole with the tools supplied, easy mount on the ring door. Quick 10hour charge that has been going for a month and only lost %2 of its charge. Easy set up with the ring app, and almost no effort to work it into HomeKit with homebridge.
