Razer Kraken Ultimate Review

Razer makes a lot of gaming headsets, spanning every major platform and connectivity option available. We were most recently impressed by the $99.99 Nari Essential for its affordable price and powerful wireless audio, while the $99.99 Kraken Tournament Edition is a compelling wired option. The Kraken Ultimate stands a step above the Tournament Edition, with a $129.99 price and a wired USB connection. It isn't quite as flexible as the Tournament model (which can work with any device with a 3.5mm connector) or the Nari Essential (which can work with the PC or PlayStation 4), but for PC-only gaming it provides thunderous sound, programmable lighting, and a fantastic microphone. The Razer Kraken Ultimate wired gaming headset brings powerful bass, programmable lighting, and an excellent microphone to your PC.

Loud, full sound with THX Spatial Audio; Excellent mic; Programmable lighting; Solid build

Razer Kraken Ultimate review

With an excellent upgrade to an already excellent headset, Razer have made a gaming headset that can keep you comfortable even in the longest gaming binges.

High sound quality; Comfortable earcups; RGB lighting;

Lacks chat mix; Software is still truly awful

Razer Kraken Ultimate review: Tournament Edition features with consumer polish

The Kraken Ultimate looks pretty good, sounds pretty good, and is priced pretty good. It shouldn’t be your first choice, but you can’t go wrong with it either.

A volume wheel! At last!; “Underglow” lighting looks pretty neat; THX Spatial Audio is a decent software-driven surround;

Ridiculously large; Sound is “okay” for the price; Mediocre microphone;
