Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is brilliant, fast-paced fun that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Rift Apart manages to retain the charm and humor that we loved about the original titles, while balancing this with new characters that offer endearing vulnerability. But while the latest Ratchet and Clank makes great use of the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and audio, we wish it utilized PS5 audio more and were frustrated by the number of bugs. Despite adding some new, welcome features, it often feels like Rift Apart plays it a bit too safe, meaning it doesn’t quite achieve that ‘wow factor’.

This is a superb return for everybody's favourite Lombax and his robot chum. It's also a showcase for what the PlayStation 5 is capable of doing, with stunning ray-traced graphics and (almost) zero loading times - even when hopping between dimensions.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is my favourite game in the series and despite its length, is still an amazing showcase of what the PS5, 3D Audio and the DualSense are capable of. Insomniac have really outdone themselves with this entry and I hope we get to see more of not only the main duo, but also...
