Clean air and dry laundry

I use this to dry the bathroom after showering and the laundry if I did a load at night. Helps with allergies by reducing mould spores and dust particles. Happy purchase

Does what it says it will.

The Philips DE5205-70 Series 5000 2-in-1 Air Dehumidifier purchased last month works perfectly well. Our ambient humidity inside sits around 70% and with this turned on, its now in the low 40's. Problem is that within an hour of turning off I'm back around 70 so this has become a 24/7 appliance.

Decent dehumidifier

As a dehumidifier, it is pretty decent and relatively quiet. Unsure of how good it is as an air purifier. I’ve noticed that it does not keep the setting to which you have initially set it to, which I think is pretty dumb for a supposedly smart machine. You also have to keep the manual handy as it would all of a sudden show certain things on the screen, to which you would have no idea what they mean unless you have the manual. I don’t think I would recommend the product as I think it is a but pricey for what it does and how it works. Other less expensive ones can do a decent job.

Not impressed

This unit for the price should do the job it’s made to do. We have used this product in our small lounge room and have not noticed any improvement in our allergy problems or health. We still wake up with severe allergies. The light always shows we have clear air which has to be untrue we can spray in the same room and may change purple but within seconds will change back blue stating clear air which couldn’t be possible this quick. Also have to push hard to set and does not always stay on the settings we choose. We did call about our concerns but was told it’s working if it’s turned blue to purple even if that only lasts seconds. Not impressed with the unit at all it’s been like this since new and only purchased a few months ago

Decent dehumidifier but dumb appliance.

This Product is decent dehumidifier, but nothing else, for the price that is asking for it, we expect some kinda of smart product. the auto function will keep the system turn on and just turn off the compressor when the humidity reach set amount, this will used a lot of electricity. it does not even come with a remote. The manual state that every year HEPA filter need to be replace and the system will not turn on if this not be replace, forcing us to keep spending money even our house air relatively clean.

Does as it says

Leave it in the bathroom and 2 problems solved. The warm air it spews out blows away the nippiness. It pulls in all the moisture from the hot water showers (which frequently trips up the smoke alarm). Great. No memory for frequently used setting(s) is a bit of a surprise at this price level. However I have a reliable hygrometer. On high humidity days I let it run until I turn it off. On low humidity days I set auto off after one hour. I did have to read the user manual (lol).

Expensive but without WiFi

The unit is ok, but for the price it should have the WiFi feature or a remote control as a minimum. I suggest that Philips should program the machine to have a smoother and quiet fan when using Auto Mode + Led Off. I dont need a rapid rush of clean air when im sleeping, because the fan is too loud when it kicks in during the night, instead it should operates quietly with lowest fan speed when in Auto + LED Off.
