OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

The OnePlus 8 Pro is a great smartphone and is still relatively cheap, considering the features that it offers and compared with other modern flagships. Nevertheless, OnePlus has almost reached the US$1,000 mark, making the OnePlus 8 Pro a low-priced high-end smartphone with excellent features...

bright and precisely calibrated 120 Hz display; smooth touchscreen; stylish and sturdy design; plenty of performance; good battery life; flexible camera system; fast memory; no throttling; precise GPS; many LTE bands; IP certification; fast-charging technology

average call quality; high temperatures under load; only a USB 2.0 cable included; no mmWave 5G; no VHT160 with Wi-Fi 6

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

The OnePlus 8 pro isn't just another OnePlus phone with high specs and a low price—it's a bona fide premium Android handset, with a price to match.

Insanely great display with all the trimmings, Wireless charging and IP-rated water resistance arrive; Gorgeous design that rivals Samsung's best

Price tops off at a thousand bucks, 5G isn't ready for prime time; Camera pales in comparison to the Google Pixel 4's

Futuremark's PCMark for Android Work 2.0 Battery test takes workloads from the benchmark itself (image and video editing, email and web browsing) and scripts them in a loop that runs until battery levels drop below 20 percent.

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

If we're grading 2020 on a curve—and, boy, does it need it—these are technically the best smartphones we've seen so far. The 8 Pro is a better phone than the Galaxy S20+, and it's $300 cheaper.

The 120Hz display looks beautiful. It's brighter, it's faster, and it's a joy to use; Mostly stock Android with extra features is the model all OEMs should follow; OnePlus finally fixed some long-running user complaints, like the lack of wireless charging and an IP68 water-resistance rating.

There is still no always-on display; The fingerprint reader isn't any bigger or faster than last year; Curved displays offer no benefits, but they distort the display image and reflect glare; The hole punch front camera is a downgrade.

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

The OnePlus 8 Pro doesn't lean on gimmicks the way other 2020 flagship phones do, so it might not seem as immediately interesting. Don't be fooled, though: Between its excellent performance, well-thought-out software and one of the best smartphone screens we've ever seen, the OnePlus 8 Pro is a...

Phenomenal 6.78-inch display; OxygenOS is well-thought-out; Excellent performance; All models now support 5G; Sleeker and lighter design; Solid main camera

Fingerprint sensor has early issues; Lackluster telephoto camera; Video motion smoothing isn't for everyone

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

OnePlus has brought a number of key enhancements to the 8 Pro. The lovely design of the top-end 12GB/256GB model with its matte-green back, the 120Hz screen, IP68 rating, fast wired and wireless charging, in-screen front camera, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G all signify a serious 2020 flagship phone.

High-quality industrial design; Top-end Snapdragon 865 chipset; 120Hz screen refresh rate; Fast wired and wireless charging; IP68 dust/water resistance; Alert slider on right edge; In-screen front camera rather than pop-up

Odd colour filter camera; Wireless charging in portrait mode only

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

Amazing battery life; Fast wired and wireless charging; Stunning screen; Great photos from the camera; Slick software

Screen touch response needs tuning; Odd Color Filter is is a misstep; Fast wireless charging is proprietary

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

Starting at $899, the OnePlus 8 Pro is undoubtedly one of OnePlus’ most expensive devices to date . Adding features such as the class-leading Snapdragon 865 processor with X55 modem, 30W wireless charging, official IP68 certification, and a high-quality 120Hz display only pushed the price tag...

Fantastic 120Hz display Fast 30W wired and wireless charging Official IP Rating Streamlined software Versatile cameras Good battery life

No optical zoom lens Gimmicky Color filter camera drives up price 3W reverse wireless charging is relatively slow Jitter in multitasking

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

The OnePlus 8 Pro has some big shoes to fill, following-up on the success of last year's 7 Pro. At $230 more, though, it's hard to call it a successor — the days of flagship "killing" are done now that OnePlus phones can cost over $900.

Screen Super smooth, bright, and high resolution; Performance This phone screams; Camera Detail improvements, can take great photos sometimes; Software OxygenOS remains one of the best Android skins; Speakers Actually sound quite good (for phone speakers).

Curved edges "Waterfall" curved screens bother some people. They make it easier to hold, but accidental touches are a problem, and there is off-angle color shift and glare; Size A curved screen helps, but this is a bigger phone, and you can't just choose based on size — the smaller model is missing...

OnePlus 8 Pro Onyx Black 8+128GB MP 02388 review

The OnePlus 8 Pro is the higher variant of the standard OnePlus 8 . The major difference between the two is that the Pro version has a larger display, of course has a bigger battery with wireless charger and provide more camera fun than the standard version, aside which other things remain same.
