Nintendo Switch Review

The Nintendo switch is a powerful hand-held Console compared to its predecessors. It surpasses the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS in every way. Although as a home console, it lacks the power that the 3-year-old PS4 and Xbox One has.

Feels like a premium product; Very portable; Option to play at home and on-the-go; Quick and hassle-free transition from handheld to gaming on the TV; Waking it up from Sleep mode is almost instantaneous; Decent graphics

Frame rate issues when docked; Joy-Con on its own could be limiting to use; Cannot charge Joy-Cons on the Grip; Cannot backup files; Cannot connect to a wireless headphone

Nintendo Switch Review & Giveaway: Play Zelda on the Toilet

is a compelling purchase. A revision will ultimately fix some of the design complaints, but you could be waiting a while.

Nintendo Switch review: Excellent hardware with one roadblock

I have something of a love/hate relationship with Nintendo consoles, especially in recent years. While I grew up with consoles like the Super NES, Nintendo 64, and Gamecube, in the time since then my preference has shifted to Nintendo's handhelds like the DS and the 3DS.

Nintendo's dream of hybrid gaming fully realized; Truly exciting hardware that stands out from the rest; Fairly solid launch lineup; especially with Zelda

Accessories are far too expensive; Online systems still need a lot of work; Launch feels rushed in general

Nintendo Switch Review: The first real hybrid console

It has been two weeks since the Nintendo Switch launched worldwide, and with a custom NVidia mobile GPU, awesome Joy-Con devices, and a solid tablet experience, the Nintendo Switch has redefined how I look at handheld gaming.

The received wisdom in the gaming industry is that Nintendo builds plans around what it calls a ‘white shark' policy. The way the industry works is this: someone comes up with something that proves popular – be it software or hardware – and everyone else in the industry says ‘let's do that'.

Good customer service, would be better if couriers could give an estimated time they would arrive.

Exactly the correct amount of Hype

First, I purchased this system and Zelda simultaneously. I also picked up Snipperclips, so my review is largely based on having two great games for the system on purchase date. Everything you've seen or heard about the switch is accurate, with the possible exception of the controller pairing issues...

Nintendo Switch Review

The most compelling reason to get the Nintendo Switch is to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , and that'll continue to be true for a while. While that hopefully won't come to define the Switch, Nintendo has a ways to go to convince everyone else.

Going from home to handheld use is easy and convenient; simple user interface; games are designed to take advantage of the system's strengths; HD Rumble is neat (if a little gimmicky)

Online gameplay is still an unknown; some will find the Joy-Con controllers too small when separated from the console; doesn't include a carrying case; few games available at launch; no support for wireless headphones

Nintendo Switch Review: Jack of all trades or master (system) of none?

Nintendo already had its eyes on making a TV-based games console portable when it released the Wii U back in 2012. Sadly, the lack of games, the extremely slow loading of games, and an even more irritatingly slow OS failed to catch on when compared to what the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were doing...
