Nikon Z50 Kit (16-50) - Brand New review

Nikon has done a great job making its first mirrorless DX camera, the Nikon Z50. It is packed full of great features, has superb ergonomics and a very intuitive menu system. The 20.9 MP sensor has similar performance as what we have seen from the Nikon D7500, with excellent high-ISO and dynamic...

Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens VOK050XA review

The Z50 is a capable and comfortable camera to use, for a wide range of photography. The autofocus system is a little more awkward than it needs to be, but generally it's a hugely competitive camera. If the lenses you want to use exist, it should be on your list of cameras to consider.

Travel and everyday photography.

Landscapes and high resolution imagery; Team sports.

Nikon Z50 Kit (16-50) - Brand New review

More like an iPhone 13S. The generational upgrades for the iPhone 14 are limited to a few subtle changes. At the same time, however, the base price climbs to 800 USD, while the only true innovation happens inside the iPhone 14 Pro series.

excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of supported frequencies, great camera, very fast performance, good battery life

display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens VOK050XA review

Nikon shows why not everyone needs a professional camera with the successful Nikon Z50.

Very good picture and video quality (4K), complete ergonomics, compact and light, fast autofocus and good shooting pace.

Lacks image stabilizer, imprecise tracking focus, multiple touch focus, moderate brightness on the kit zoom.

Nikon Z50 Review

Nikon is introducing the new Nikon Z50 (Z 50) and with it a new range of APS-C sensor mirrorless cameras and lenses, with Nikon proclaiming the Z50 as a new "era" for Nikon. Using the same Z-mount as the Nikon Z6 and Z7, the system can use existing full-frame Z-mount lenses, as well as the new DX...

Excellent ergonomics and handling; Excellent image quality and noise performance; New DX Z-Mount lenses perform well; Compact camera body; Clear logical menu system (more advanced section is colour coded; Fast continuous shooting; 4K UHD video with multiple options

Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens VOK050XA review

Available at a great price and with lots to like - including build quality, handling, a very usable screen and viewfinder - the Z50 might be the new kid on the APS-C mirrorless block, but it’s easily one of the best out there.

Great handling; Attractively priced; Excellent image quality

Tilting screen mechanism no good for tripod mounting; Only a single UHS-I card slot; No joystick for selecting AF points

Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens VOK050XA review

The Z50 is a good debut for Nikon’s Z mount APS-C mirrorless system. Unfortunately, it’s entering a very competitive market and faces some strong competition, particularly Fujifilm’s X-T30.

Great handling; compact size; Good EVF; Sharp 4K video; Decent performance and autofocus

Lowest resolution in its category; Single UHS-I card; Limited lens choices

Nikon Z50 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens VOK050XA review

The Nikon Z 50 is a great little mirrorless camera that offers more features than its entry-level designation implies.

Great image quality, Solid build, Excellent feature set, Slow-motion 4K video

Flip-down LCD blocks tripod mount, No in-body image stabilization, Modest battery life, Limited lens options

Nikon Z50 Kit (16-50) - Brand New review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features
