Nikon D7000

The Nikon D7000 is a top-notch enthusiast-aimed SLR. It offers great overall image quality and is built like a tank.

A very good camera, 10 points, it can not because then you can of course not be better. Have shot with the camera since April 2011, previously had a D80. The difference in the dynamic range of the D80 is very large, perhaps up to 2 stages. Autofocus is fast and usually accurate but not always.

Nikon D7000 Review

Price is just as critical as any other element and the D7000's initial RRP is towards the top-end. To explain: Canon's 7D plus 18-135mm lens available for around £100 more and Canon's highly competitive 60D is some hundreds of pounds cheaper at the time of writing.

Fantastic AF system; excellent picture quality; great battery life

A little expensive; screen could be higher resolution; kit lens doesn't show camera's full potential

Nikon D7000

The D7000 is a fantastic step up camera for those who have outgrown entry level digital SLRs or for those who want to upgrade from older mid-range models, with the advantage this time around of a bang up-to-date feature set for the Nikon range; the obvious advantages of Full HD video and optional...

Nikon D7000 digital SLR camera

The Nikon D7000 combines good usability and handling with excellent image quality in addition to a versatile ISO range. If you're looking to buy a digital SLR but want a camera that's more capable than the current crop of entry-level offerings, we think this is a great option - in our opinion the...

Excellent image quality (including at high ISOs); excellent quality 1080p video mode; plenty of professional-level features

No histogram; exposure indicator or aperture adjustment during live view mode; some shooting controls are not laid out in an intuitive fashion

Nikon D7000 Digital Camera Review

When Nikon launch its D90 some two and a half years ago, it implemented many aspects that have now become expected from the prosumer market. Outstanding low light performance combined with speed and efficiency in auto focusing and metering could only be found in the professional and semi-pro range...

Nikon D7000 DSLR camera

The D7000 is an outstanding release by Nikon. This camera is a real treat for the enthusiast photographer but can work equally well as a back up body for professionals. You do have to master its features to get the best out of it though – refining the results through trial and error – to appreciate...

Sensors and Sensibility: The Nikon D7000 is a video camera strong enough to keep Nikon a contender in the DSLR filmmaker market.

For some years after Nikon brought video to the DSLR world with its D90 , the company pretty much ceded that market segment to Canon, which was first to market with the 1080 and 24p options that really made DSLR video a force in the indie feature and TV worlds.

Great sensor; superb auto-focus, customization and ergonomics. Any flavor of HD (compressed to H.264, of course) that you could want

Has all the same limitations as an HD capture device that all DSLRs have (because video functionality will always be a secondary consideration in designing cameras used primarily for still photography).

Review: Nikon D7000 DSLR

(1 items) With the release of the D7000 , Nikon created a new category in its broad DSLR line. At $1200 (body only), the D7000 offers a mid-range alternative to the higher end D300s, and the slightly-long-in-the-tooth but more affordable D90 (released in 2008).

Outstanding still image quality; Sealed against weather and dust; Above average low light/high ISO performance; Dual SD/SDHC/SDXC card slots; Autofocus in video and Live View modes; Very good video quality

New Nikon DLSR users may be frustrated by learning curve of more advanced features; Full-time autofocus in Video and Live View modes not ready for prime time; Bracket button positioned too close to flash pop-up button; Function button difficult to access
