The Nikon D610 is a full-frame digital SLR camera featuring a 24.3-megapixel FX format sensor, 39-point AF system, 14-bit analogue-to-digital conversion and a glass prism optical viewfinder with 100% frame coverage. The new D610 is identical to the previous D600 model apart from three new features.

As I have pointed out in the beginning of this review, the Nikon D610 is what the D600 should have been when it was initially launched. Without fully acknowledging the dust issue on the D600, Nikon released the D610 as if it was a whole different camera.

The issues that were present in the D600 have been amended in the D610 along with a slight increase in resolution. The D610 offers those who are making the jump to full frame an easy transition from the APSC format.

Sensor delivers excellent results; AF performance very good; Handling

Nikon offers an update with the D610, and it's a pretty solid camera.

I have had my D610 for two and a half years now. It has been a good tool as I have improved my ability and carved out my niche. I have used it for everything from editorial photography to full on action photography. While it is not the best for action, in capable hands, it is up to the task.

Big upgrade from D700. Focus with my 85mm 1.4 is much improved. Images are sharper and it was worth it for the dual card slots alone. No more worries about card failure after an important shoot.

All around improvement

Smaller focusing pattern but not really much of a issue

Nikon- fine if you like old skool. I am used to shooting with a live view. Update, or die, Nikon. FYI- I have been shooting Nikon since 1975. They used to be King.

I bought this camera after being in the DX world for years and I'm so glad I did. Once I used a full frame sensor, I'm not sure how I did it before. I love the extra focus points versus my D3200 and it shoots a lot less grainy in high iso's.
