Autofocus doesn't always work

RMAing with Newegg. Am shooting a wedding with it next week and was a little disappointed that I had to submit a refund and order another so I'm on the hook for $5000 until the first completes RMA.

Very nice camera; Takes excellent pictures; Dual SD slots are great; Videos are better than (my admittedly somewhat old) HD camcorder; Significant upgrade from my Canon EOS

Autofocus has been intermittently failing; When you 1/2 press to autofocus the white focus assist LED comes on but no focusing, and the shutter is locked; Seems to happen about 10% of the time; Will submit updated review when I have a fully working device.

Potentially great!

This camera have the potential to be a good product but the recent issues with the D600 and the poor management of this problem by Nikon, says a lot about this product and/or any products to be released in the near future by this company

Good image quality; ergonomics and handling

Poor customer support and reliability by Nikon

Nikon D610

The Nikon D610 follows relatively quickly on from its predecessor, the Nikon D600, with good reason. Despite the Nikon D600 being the most affordable full-frame DSLR of all time on launch, it has its flaws, the most noticeable of which was that after a certain number of shutter actuations – around...

First-class handling; Great performance from the sensor; Impressive AF performance

No native Wi-Fi; Too closely-grouped AF points

Sensor delivers excellent results; AF performance very good; Handling

AF points grouped a little too closely to the centre of the frame; 10-pin and sync socket missing

Nikon D610 review

By and large the Nikon D600 was warmly welcomed when it was announced in September 2012. It was designed to be the natural progression for DX format users wanting to dip their toes into FX (full-frame) photography and, as well as having a control layout that sits comfortably within Nikon's...

Nikon D610 DSLR Review

Features Handling Performance Verdict Specification The Nikon D610 is this years update to the Nikon D600 , shooting at 6fps, which is quicker than the 5.5fps of the D600, and features the same 24.3 megapixel full-frame sensor, full HD video recording, ISO50 to ISO25600, a large 3.2 inch screen, and...

Excellent image quality; Excellent noise performance; Auto shutter speed control for auto ISO; Wide-strap; 2 year warranty; Compact full-frame body; Headphone / Microphone socket; Quiet shutter mode / Mup function; Slightly improved continuous shooting speed; Printed manual

Price close to higher spec D800; AWB could be better under tungsten light; Competitors are cheaper

[REVIEW-NIKON D610 DSLR]

This 24 megapixel full frame DSLR has a couple of improvements on the D600 released last year. Burst mode speed is increased from 5.5 to 6 frames per second; auto white balance has been tweaked and a Quiet Shutter Continuous mode (which is not all that quiet) has been added.
