Worth every penny!

Given my budget I thought for a long time between the buying the D500 or getting the full frame D750 and yes this is a lot of money for a crop sensor camera but the technology inside is the same as Nikon's latest flagship full frame cameras the D5 and D850 so you are getting a lot of very high end...

Awesome Camera

Finally upgraded from my D300 to the D500. The camera is awesome! The new sensor, camera burst capability with a XQD card, the addition of Blu Tooth and Wifi equip the camera with an unbelievable depth of capability!

Too many to list

Plan on purchasing a 3rd Party book to become proficient with the cameras capabilities

Nikon D500

While not a compact DSLR, the Nikon D500 offers a lot of imaging capabilities in its rugged, pro-oriented camera body. It also has a very good 153-point AF system, fast continuous shooting performance and 4K UHD video recording, making it one of the most capable, well-rounded DSLRs that Nikon has...

Superb image quality; Great high ISO performance; Rugged, comfortable camera body; Sharp articulating touchscreen display; Excellent AF point frame coverage; Fast continuous shooting speeds; 4K UHD video; Built-in Wi-Fi, NFC and Bluetooth

Somewhat large for an APS-C camera; Expensive for a DX camera; 4K UHD video doesn't offer full DX field-of-view; No built-in flash; Still uses contrast-detect for Live View AF; Dual slots use two different card types (XQD and SD)

Nikon D500 review: The best APS-C DSLR ever made?

It's been a long time since Nikon launched the D300, a camera that arrived at roughly the same time as the very first iPhone. Yep, that long ago. That camera's successor, the D300S, hit the market last decade too.

Fully realised autofocus system; fast shooting and huge buffer; great image quality; smaller and more manageable than D5; tilt-angle touchscreen; ups its video capabilities (including 4K

"Hi" ISO settings aren't useful - they're just headline grabbers; screen isn't fully variable; touchscreen inaccessible for menu controls

Nikon D500 review

Back in 2007, Nikon unleashed a pair of DSLRs that revitalised its line-up and re-established the company as being at least on a par with its rival Canon. The professional-level D3 was its first full-frame model, with super-fast shooting and an impressive 51-point AF system.

Remarkable autofocus system; Excellent build quality and handling; Fine image quality at both low and high ISO settings

Large and heavy compared to APS-C peers; Much less capable when used in live view; SnapBridge connectivity doesn't work well (yet

Nikon D500

The D500 is Nikon's new flagship DX-format (APS-C) camera. We were waiting a long time for Nikon to produce an update for the D300S, so much so that it has skipped a number and gone straight to D500.

Great camera

Still getting used to using the D500. Coupled with the 200-500 Nikon lens, I've had some very pleasing results thus far. The kit lens has also produced some outstanding photos. Very good service from JL using click and collect from Waitrose.
