New Pokémon Snap review

New Pokémon Snap feels antiquated by today’s standards. Your enjoyment of the game will ultimately come down to whether you enjoy taking hundreds of pictures of virtual creatures, as you slowly chug along predetermined paths multiple times in the hopes of spotting something new. It’ll probably pass muster with Pokémon-loving kids, who will delight in seeing Pikachu scamper across the screen for perhaps the very first time. But for anyone aged 10 or above, this eclectic safari park isn’t worth the price of admission.

Intuitive controls; Pokémon are undeniably cute; Pleasing visuals;

Very monotonous; Feels incredibly dated; No real incentive to keep playing

Enjoyable and interesting game

First of all I would say that this game is both interesting for the person who didn't play the old Pokemon Snap and for the person who did. The game itself is very beautiful, there's a lot of different pokemon to be found and can be challenging when you want to fill up your photo album completely. My only critique is that the game feels a bit too linear and after you've already got a lot of photos in your photo album it can feel like a bit of a drag to re-do a level just to get a particular picture of one pokemon.

Loved the original game? Then this is a must play.

We have been waiting over 20 years for a sequel to the beloved Pokemon Snap for the Nintendo 64. The wait was very long but it may have been worth it. New Pokemon Snap has done a fantastic job. Although the game features 214 out of nearly 900 Pokemon, the ones selected were great picks. It's fun seeing them act like actual animals out wild. Many of the stages have different paths and a night version so when replaying, you'll have the opportunities to have new Pokemon appear. Bandai have done a great job!

A Blast from the Past

An exciting look down memory lane but updated for a modern audience. The game includes tons of content with plenty of replayability. Would highly recommend to any Pokémon fan, or anyone looking for a game to relax to.

If you love taking photos of cute Pokemon GET IT

Such an awesome game!! I love being able to enjoy the Pokemon for their aesthetic rather than their fighting skills. Really fun and interactive game. I have taken some shots that make me feel very proud too! :D

Nostalgic game - reminds me of the N64 version!

If you loved the old nintendo 64 game, you will love this one as well! It's a real throw back! Only downside is the illumia levels which are not very interesting at all.

Good ol' fun!

This brings me back to the Nintendo 64 but in beautiful depth and colour. Great game with great mechanics, just won't keep you occupied very long as its a fairly short and repetitive game.

How I wish Sw&Sh had looked!

Brilliant realizations of Pokémon in the wild, combined with engaging gameplay, makes for the best Pokémon experience I've had since ORAS on the 3DS.
