Motorola Moto G5S Plus Review

Lenovo's Motorola recently launched two new smartphones – the Moto G5S and the Moto G5S Plus . The latter, which we have for review, packs a more powerful hardware, packing a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 CPU, 4GB RAM, and dual 13MP rear camera.

* Premium build; * Good display; * Good cameras; * Good performance; * Above average battery life

The Moto G5S Plus is an incredibly compelling piece of hardware. We crowned its younger sibling the Moto G5 Plus the king of budget back in April of this year, and this newer ‘S' variant improves upon this model in every way.

Great build quality Punchy LCD screen Fantastic battery life Simplistic UI Useful "Moto Actions

Outdated micro-USB Sub-par speakers Low-quality camera(s

Moto G5S Plus review: This is the mid-range phone you want

None of us here know exactly where Lenovo is putting their money, but if I had to guess, I'd be pretty comfortable saying they care much more about their mid-range and budget-friendly phones than the flagship stuff.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus Review: Unripe for the picking

Just half a year after their release, the Moto G5 and G5 Plus will each be replaced by new models that bear an S suffix. For this review, we took a look at the Moto G5S Plus to see if the early facelift is justified, or if Motorola should have waited for the right moment before retiring the young,...

Headphone jack; Beautiful design; Fast charging; 1.5 days battery life; Dual SIM

Outdated software; Too expensive for mid-range; Flawed camera focus effect

Moto G5S Plus review: Steadily advancing on flagship territory, but it's not clear why

It's been a few years since the Motorola that we knew and loved was replaced by what I like to call Lenovorola. Gone are the quick updates, Moto Maker, and a lot of other things that made Motorola great; instead, we now have a ton of different models, super slow ( or potentially nonexistent )...

Design The metal body is all grown up; and makes the phone look and feel much more expensive than it is; Display 1080p is perfectly adequate; and viewing angles are great; Fingerprint sensor It's quick; and it can even replace the nav buttons; Performance Unless you're doing some serious gaming; it...

Camera(s They're nothing special; and are lackluster in some crucial respects; NFC It's not here; so if you use mobile payments; you're SOL; microUSB I still put the connector in upside-down every time; Price Its MSRP has gone up by $50 from the G5 Plus's; despite there not being many improvements

Moto G5S Plus review

The Moto G5S Plus is, in a specs sense at least, not a major step up from the Moto G5 Plus . Its dual camera setup isn't worth getting that excited about and the processing power is similar. However, in person the shift is greater.

Upgraded full metal shell; Very good value; Good battery life

Significant camera shutter lag; Max screen brightness isn't high; No USB Type-C port

Moto G5S Plus Review: Great Galaxy S8 Alternative for $500 Less

Motorola has taken its budget darling, the G5 Plus , and tweaked it just enough to deliver an even better package. There are three key areas in which the G5S Plus outperforms the cheaper G5 Plus: screen size, design and the presence of an all-new dual 13-megapixel camera setup.

Excellent display; Premium design; Speedy performance; Long-lasting battery

Unremarkable dual cameras, U.S; model lacks NFC, Slow Wi-Fi

Moto G5S Plus review: Motorola has produced a winner here, but the dual camera still needs work

Lenovo, the parent company of Motorola, recently announced the launch of its latest devices, the Moto G5S and G5S Plus for the Indian market. These two devices are the 2017 upgrades to the G5 and G5 Plus.

Overall, the Moto G5s Plus improves on the already-great G5 Plus, offering a lot for less than £300 here in the UK. Refined design work, a bigger display and that same vanilla Android interface makes for a strong all-rounder, while the improved selfie camera will appeal to Instagram fans.

Bigger screen; Smart and streamlined UI; Sleek design
