The Moto G5S Plus is an incredibly compelling piece of hardware. We crowned its younger sibling the Moto G5 Plus the king of budget back in April of this year, and this newer ‘S' variant improves upon this model in every way.

Great build quality Punchy LCD screen Fantastic battery life Simplistic UI Useful "Moto Actions

The Moto G series has been one of the most popular series in the budget/mid-range segment in the country (many people say the first Moto G actually changed the Indian mobile phone market) and the company has now added the Moto G5s and the Moto G5s Plus to it – interestingly, after introducing the...

Moto G5S Plus Review: Great Galaxy S8 Alternative for $500 Less

Motorola has taken its budget darling, the G5 Plus , and tweaked it just enough to deliver an even better package. There are three key areas in which the G5S Plus outperforms the cheaper G5 Plus: screen size, design and the presence of an all-new dual 13-megapixel camera setup.

Excellent display; Premium design; Speedy performance; Long-lasting battery

Unremarkable dual cameras, U.S; model lacks NFC, Slow Wi-Fi

Motorola Moto G5S Plus: Redesigned budget phone is a winner

Since 2013 the Moto G series has been a top choice for budget buyers. Until last year most of its phones picked up perfect scores. But the Moto G5 spoilt the record with no major progress, bar a new look.

Upgraded metal frame; Good value; Upgraded metal frame

Moto G5S Plus review: one of the best budget Android smartphones you can buy

The Moto G5S Plus is the replacement for the same firm's G5 Plus, and while the RRP is slightly more expensive at £259 (AU$430, US$340) we're already seeing heavy discounting.

Really good value; Solid metal case

Camera is slow

Caused the phone to malfunction

Beautiful case and seemed like good quality, but the side buttons on my Moto G5S plus were somehow interfered by the soft cover over those buttons. Played with it a few times, but same result.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus review: bigger and better, but at a cost

What happens when Motorola tries to release a better version of the Moto G5 Plus - the best budget smartphone around - in the same year? In this case, it succeeds. The Moto G5S Plus is a special edition of the G5 Plus with an improved design, camera system, and a bigger display.

Great unibody design, Excellent battery life, Unlocked; works on every carrier

Poor camera; No NFC; No USB-C

Moto G5S Plus

The Moto G5S Plus offers everything the Moto G5 Plus did, and slaps on a dual-camera on the back. It's better in some ways, but not a real upgrade.

Well built; Dependable performance

Slow camera that is not dependable; Battery life should have been better
