Microsoft Surface Pro 7: The Surface Pro 7 is still a fine 2-in-1 but this is a disappointing update
Good value keyboard; Finally has USB Type-C; Tried and tested 2-in-1 design
Middling battery life; Core i7 model disappointing
The Surface Pro 7 is arguably the best windows tablet money can buy, it’s just not that big a leap over the Surface Pro 6. The form, design, microSD card slot, kickstand, Windows Hello and simply the way it works are still winners in 2020.
Pros: great screen; good battery life; brilliant keyboard (essential additional purchase); microSD card reader; excellent kickstand; Windows Hello; solid build; easy to carry; USB-A and USB-C
Cons: no Thunderbolt 3; fairly expensive; keyboard should be included; Core i7 version fans are more audible
We expected a bit more in advancements from the seventh Surface Pro tablet. USB-C is nice, but for a device at this price, its should be Thunderbolt 3. Plus, the display bezels are awfully thick for a tablet in 2019.
Vastly improved performance; USB-C finally; Now with Wi-Fi 6
Overall loss in battery life; USB-C isn’t Thunderbolt 3; Few; if any; other design changes; Screen bezels are thick for 2019
The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 makes a small step forward, but we were expecting a giant leap.
Powerful hardware; Premium build quality; Excellent display
Not much new; Poor battery life
We’re confused as to why Microsoft didn’t give this the Surface Pro 5 moniker, since it only received the largest improvement on a Surface we’ve seen so far. Despite losing the included Surface Pen, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2017’s massive leap forward helps it retain our coveted Recommended award.
Hugely improved battery life; Much better Surface Pen; Comfier, punchier Type Cover;
Surface Pen pulled from package; Only Core i7 can challenge A10X
You can’t go wrong with the new Surface Pro 7 if you are in the market for a 2-in-1 Windows tablet. It’s a bit expensive and you have to pay extra for the accessories but it is a premium and powerful product. It has a nice form factor, vibrant display and delivers competent performance.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 improves on its predecessor with stronger performance and better ports, but its battery life is disappointing. The Microsoft Surface Pro 7 delivers big on performance and display quality, complete with a responsive screen for note-taking and drawing and a convertible...
Solid performance, Bright and colorful display, Excellent optional keyboard, USB-C port (finally)
Underwhelming battery life, Soft speakers
Generally good designed product. The only thing to call out is to Microsoft to find a better way to host the pen. Magnetically stick on the side of the tablet could be a challenge.
Bought for grandson to use at high school. Unit is overall good but back of screen which incorporates CPU does heat up causing concerns with reliability. Unit has no fan so relies on passive heat control. Have built a small potable fan unit to push cool air on back of screen which keeps it cool.
The Msoft Surface Pro 7 is so easy to use with either keyboard or just a swipe of your finger. Travelling with it is perfect, just slip it into your shoulder bag or brief case it doesn't take up much room and isn't heavy either. It is a dream to work with. It's perfect!!!!
