Review: Microsoft's Arc Touch Mouse

Microsoft's Arc Touch Mouse is definitely one of their better products. Other than its steep price tag and the difficulty of using the aluminum strip, this mouse is truly a winner. Even Apple die hards will appreciate the Arc Touch's aesthetics while enjoying the functionality it offers.

Looks great, Smart design choices (e.g; automatic on/off, RF stub magnetic holder, etc., Very ergonomic

Relatively small swiping area; Price

Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Review

With this mouse, Microsoft proved that its designers could rival Apple with a unique, stylish product that is sturdy as well as simple and functional. Although USD 70 is a little pricey for a mouse, it is perfect for traveling and can easily be used as an everyday mouse.

Excellent stylish design; Sturdy; Easily transportable; Excellent precision; Works on a large variety of surfaces; LED light on top of the mouse give feedback on battery strength; Long battery life; Haptic scroll bar; Customizable through IntelliPoint software; Excellent packaging

Transceiver too easy to dislodge; Not good for small hands or short fingers; Fairly expensive

Microsoft Arc Touch

The Arc Touch derives its name from its two main features. It should be obvious that the ‘Arc' part of the moniker comes from the shape of the mouse. Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse

Any consumer tech company worth its salt knows that it's all about touch-operation nowadays and that's why Apple unveiled its Magic Trackpad back in the summer of 2010 and Microsoft announced its Arc Touch Mouse not long afterwards, following a series of hints and internet leaks.

Compact; collapsible design; easy to use; fast to setup; compact USB device

Temperamental scrolling; slightly pricey; no side-buttons for thumb

Review: Microsoft Arc Mouse

As an attendee at Mobius this year I was given a Microsoft Arc Mouse. While mice don't tend to excite me, this one not only piqued my interest, but has become my every day mouse when using my MacBook with my desktop configuration.
