It takes some guts to launch a port of a game in your previous generation as a big release on your shiny new console, but that's exactly what Nintendo have done. Many a gamer never got to play the fantastic Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U.

Multiple multiplayer options; Battle mode is now worthy of your time; All the DLC on the Wii U included; Small improvements that'll please veterans of the game; Play it anywhere you want

Lacking a missions mode; Not being able to switch items if you have two

Awesome party game with heaps of replay value.

I've spent countless hours playing this with the mates on Wii U, and the Switch version is even better. Native 1080p at 60fps looks incredible, the new battle mode is good fun, and online lobbies are easier to come by. The fact that Only 2 sets of joycon are needed for 4 players is convenient if there is already another switch in the house too!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe review: You WILL buy a Switch

Spoiler: Mario Kart 8 is a great game. Sorry, let the cat out of the bag there. If you have a Wii U, you already know this. But with not that many people actually owning one, and Nintendo with a new, very-well-selling Switch console in desperate need of a Nintendo-made racer to double as a local...

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is why you should own a Nintendo Switch

Just as with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , Nintendo has somehow managed to create another game that goes above and beyond all expectation. Not only is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe good, it's unbelievably good for something that essentially amounts to a refreshed release of a three-year-old title.

42 racers; 48 courses and so much new content; Battle Mode is back and better than ever; Plenty of content to keep Mario Kart 8 completionist's occupied

Price seems somewhat steep for those who already own Mario Kart 8; Full online functionality isn't ready quite yet

Great fun with friends, confusing to split joycons first time

I feel this game deserves 5 stars, but I have dropped 1 star due to the lack of instructions on how to split the joycons so you can play 2 player with one each… For anyone wondering how Todo this, go into a multiplayer game, when the control prompt shows up press flip your joycon sideways and press both SL + SR at the same time, repeat this with the second joycon and you should be set To revert back to a single control press L + R at the same time in the control menu

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe delivers another wonderful and fun karting experience. To dismiss it simply because we've played a lot of it before on the Wii U just wouldn't be right. For some people, this is going to be their first experience with the game and it's hard not to be jealous.

Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The definitive Mario Kart experience gets even better and the Switch's form-factor makes it even better. This will undoubtedly be a multiplayer mainstay for years due to its solid gameplay and fun.

Improvement on the already-classic MK8; Smooth and flawless handheld experience; Battle Mode is finally worth checking out

Little new to justify repeat purchase unless you're a huge fan

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Review

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doesn't offer much for players who already had their fill of the original Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, but it's still a fantastic game have on the Switch. If, like most people, you skipped the Wii U, or just want their Kart fix, Deluxe is the best version of one of our favorite...

The best Mario Kart game you can buy; Battle mode is improved; Smart Steering is great for new players; New characters added like King Boo; Local multiplayer included (4-player

Not actually a new game; Smart steering may irk hardcore players; Playing on a single Joy-Con is cramped (but not required

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe takes the best and makes it better. The original's awesome collection of courses, characters, and customization are only enhanced by Smart Steering and the welcomed return of Battle Mode.

Battle Mode; Smart Steering

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Review – Fun For Everyone

It's no secret that a new Nintendo console will at some point bring us a new iteration of Mario Kart. The franchise has been a staple of my gaming life for as long as I can remember, starting with the Super Nintendo version and continuing on to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which is essentially a beefed up...
