This mono-pod has proven to be very useful for my JVC Everio video cam and my Canon SX40 still camera. I looked at quite a few mono-pods trying to find one that collapses this short and extends taller than the walking stick type.

Item reduces to around 9 inch\'s and expands to around 5 feet. So really portable and great for takeing steady shots

I'm headed to Africa on safari, and a tripod is just too much of a hassle to lug around. Still, I need some stability for my wildlife shots. This compact monopod is a good trade off. I have a great Manfrotto tripiod, and I expected similar quality in their monopod. I am not disappointed.

If one is looking for a compact lightweight monopod, this one is excellent. Very positive locks as one extends the leg. It is nice that it comes in different colors. I would not use this for a heavy DSLR but for your aim and create and Ultra Zoom style cameras it is perfect.

Lightweight and stable. Camera screw is attached to the tripod with a quick release catch. This makes it easy to fit and the camera can be released very quickly.

Excellent quality and design for price. Easy to use , clips can be worked one handed, feels robust,but light enough to carry around, attached to camera

This monopod is ideal so long as you understand that it is for LIGHT WEIGHT gear only. I use it to hold off-camera flash units with a Pocketwizard attached and it's perfect. It will hold small cameras, but anything bigger than a EOS M and it's going to struggle.

The first feature I was looking for was, how small is it when stowed. That earns it a 5 star. Though I haven't yet used it, it appears to be well built and solid.
