Mad Max review

I certainly feel Mad Max will go down as one of the most underrated and underplayed games of 2015. It's far from perfect and design issues can severely hinder the experience, but I like how Avalanche Studios has created a game brimming with life, ironically within a world that is hostile towards the...

+ Rewarding commitment to survival; + Car combat is confronting and satisfying; + Harsh landscape with moments of beauty

- Mission design sometimes lacks clarity; - Task of scavenging might become tiresome for some; - Horrible framerate drops

Mad Max PS4 Review

I must admit that open-world games set in wastelands sound a bit unappealing, but if a development team has the talent, it's possible for them to create a well realised world that is distinctive when compared to many other open-world games.

Mad Max Review

Watch the embedded video above, featuring an audio reel supplied by Mel Gibson's brother, Donal Gibson The intro reel and audio you just heard is, of course, not from the final product we're talking about here.

Mad Max Review

There are video games made to accompany movies and there are video games that take a movie's lore and make something new out of it. Mad Max belongs to the latter category. The game uses the lore [...]

Brilliant Vehicular Combat; Right Hand Drive; Attention to Detail; Interesting and Challenging Open World that extends beyond its borders

Backstory not clearly explained; Sidequests may not keep up with main quest events; Restrictive Fast travel

it's the greatest thing since sliced bread

This was for my kid. This is how he rates it. If he is winning, it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, if he is losing to the games, it's garbage, good for nothing. Myself, I love it, keeps him out of my hair.

Hit the road, Max.

There's a good reason why the new Mad Max game occasionally resembles this year's Mad Max: Fury Road : it's a canonical prequel that pits you against Scabrous Scrotus--son of the film's sinister Immortan Joe.

The desert wasteland looks beautiful; with excellent lighting and weather effects; Car combat is explosive and thrilling; Peculiar characters draw you into the story

Hand-to-hand combat is simple and easy to exploit; Logical inconsistencies pull you out of the world and story; Most missions feel repetitive and mundane; Despite its efforts; it fails to simulate survival in a dystopian wasteland

I'm about 40 hours in and I'm loving every moment. In particular, it's visually SPECTACULAR. Thankfully they've included a photo mode, removing the HUD and letting you move the camera at will, because I can't stop taking screenshots like I'm a tourist. My eyes can't believe what I'm seeing.

Although this is a severely awesome game with a lot to offer it does have its faults the driving is clunky and it's often hard to handle vehicles at speed even when there fully upgraded there is a fair few glitches and sometimes the game just feels completely out of sync But the game is fun and...

Cross between GTA and Borderlands

Very entertaining. Lots of driving and fighting. Upgrade Max to make him tougher and upgrade your car so it's more deadly. Lots of options for each. Massive map where you can free roam or follow missions from the various characters you meet
