Mad Max: review

The world of Mad Max (or ‘Infuriated Ian' as the English version has it, of course) is a grim one. A grimy world where crude and dirty technology is king, and automobiles are valued higher than human lives; sort of like the inside of Jeremy Clarkson's head.

"like new," only scratched

disc looks good at a glance, but there are some short, deep scratches that have me stuck anything 30% install. was advertised like new, showed up without a case. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try it. I basically paid for a demo disc.

Mad Max

The domain of the Mad Max video game is a lovingly crafted landscape of natural, wondrous desert beauty scattered with the detritus of a world that was once similar to our own. The characters-"friend" and enemy alike-are appropriately feral psychopaths, all with their own unique neuroses, dangerous...

In many respects, Mad Max: Fury Road is quite linear - a straightforward chase movie that deviates little in terms of sub-plots. Mad Max the game does pretty much the opposite.

Mad Max on PS4 is a brutal third open world action adventure that truly pays homage to the movie franchise with its enjoyable and sometimes limited gameplay

Mad Max

In the 'Mad Max' series, society has disintegrated after an enigmatic global conflict. In the ruins of Australia, sadistic road gangs have established themselves as the dominant life form, with few having the means to stop them.

Riding with the Angel of Combustion

Video games are often colorful, loud, busy, and full of things meant to grab a person's attention, but one thing most video games aren't is subtle. And if one is, God help it in a marketplace already brimming with competition and getting thicker all the time.

The sandstorms are absolutely jaw-dropping

The bosses need more variety

Avalanche's take on George Miller's post-apocalyptic wasteland is replete with striking visuals, basically enjoyable busywork, and not much else.

Mad Max Review - Bleeding out on the blacktop

Just think about the comparison though. Just Cause games are set in a tropical paradise and give you tonnes of guns, skydiving, mid-air car surfing, anything-goes grappling hooks and the fun cranked up to 11 for the duration.

Car combat can be a lot of fun (eventually; On-foot fights against smaller groups work well; Gotta love that grappling hook

Everything in the game takes too long; Early exploration punished; Map and bases are uninspired
