I don't use the mapping software the gamepad comes with as I also have an XBox 360 for Windows controller and it won't work with the mapping software. Otherwise, this is a wonderful controller that has lasted for years. Definitely worth every penny.

- Switch between XInput and DirectInput - Great for mapping classic games that don't use the Z Axis controls or natively mapping to and older game; - Control sticks are nice and responsive, not too loose or too tight.

- Wireless doesn't reach very far; Starts dropping signal at about 6'; Sucks if you want to sit on the couch, but it does include the extension cable so you can alleviate some of this

Bought two of these, one online and one in store. Both seem to need to be within 2 feet of their receiver to operate with any sort of quality. Outside this range input becomes garbled, buttons acting like they're being held down or not activating at all.

I really like the F310 so I thought I'd give the wireless version a try. Seems to be every bit as good as the old reliable F310. No noticeable lag when using with Windows 7 in Direct mode.

I have used my F710 for almost two months. the fell, response, and built quality are perfect. the shape doesn't really do well for me, and also the positioning of the middle button makes me accidently () press the analog mode button than the back button.

I originally set this up with the calibration software that came with it. It just didn't want to work. I then found Pinnacle, which made calibration much easier. Still, in both places, it treats the directional pad like the left analog stick and the left analog stick like the d-pad.

Microsft comes very close to the quality of Logitech, but NOTHING beats them. I've been buying their products since the mid 90's and I cannot find better... I'm not even talking about how REASONABLE their prices are because there are a lot of products that are over-priced junk.

Reliability

I have bought this controller for my PC some time ago because I wanted any controller to play Minecraft on my PC, CoD: MW3, and some other games. And also because it would be useful for presentations, to use to pass slides, move the mouse, etc (because I honestly hate to use a real mouse for this).
