Last year I became the proud owner of a lovely blue Sony Vaio laptop which I use all the time. It has a very responsive touch pad but sometimes I find it hard work if I am playing a game or doing surveys that require a lot of scrolling and clicking.

Small; responsive

Probably unsuitable for larger hands

Good for gaming

I got this travel mouse when I bought my IBM Thinkpad T42. I summarize below why I think it is the best mouse I have used in the last 20 years: 1. Optical (well all of them are now, but did you remember you have to clean the ball regularly in those old mechanic mouse?) 2. Wired.

Amazing feeling matte mouse

No smugges/dirt can stick on due to it's mate surface. The cable is a bit thick but i think with time it will soften.

left button died after 2 years

overall fine mouse - works on almost any surface, that I tried, good size even for my big hands, lightweight, nice soft to the touch finish, love included Velcro-strap for managing cables and ThinkPad logo, BUT it's my first mouse (after ~2003) that has died (left button died - randomly works good -...

my favorite mouse

if you have some repetitive stress issues, and have smaller hands, and use a claw grip instead of a palm-on grip, this may be your ticket. For me, it's worth the premium price for such a simple mouse. My hands thank me after a long day on the computer, but ymmv.

small, but not tiny, light...and no retractable cord; I use a claw grip (grab w/ fingertips, not palming the mouse), and have small-ish hands; A larger, heavier mouse really strains my tendons after a long session, this does not

bit bit loud on the clicks, and expensive; Oh, and rather basic

Good look and feel

Excellent positional control. Wheel and buttons have a perfect tactile feel. PS2 compatibility saves a USB port for other uses. Aside from an incorrect web link in the instructions to download the software, installation and performance is flawless.

Pros

Shopping for a mouse has become infuriating, especially when looking for something wired. Today's new button design is inherently flawed (likely intentionally) and results in mice buttons that stop responding after only a few weeks of use.

-Buttons are not joined to the case like today's modern "lasts less than a month" mice with joined buttons that warp and stop clicking; These buttons are built normally and thus will click forever, -This is a normal wired mouse without the little retractable wire on some other mice that breaks in...

-The mouse is a bit small for desktop use but you'll get around it in no time
