Lenovo ThinkPad T470s (Core i7, WQHD) Laptop Review

The ThinkPad T470s is one of the devices that Lenovo updated only a little this year. The previous T460s was already a very good business notebook, so this is not a big issue. The chassis is still extremely well built. It is both light and stable thanks to high-quality materials like magnesium.

light and sturdy case; bright WQHD panel; great keyboard; numerous security features; LTE integrated; USB-C/Thunderbolt 3; long battery runtime; 3-year warranty

high temperatures; limite CPU Turbo; significantly reduced performance on battery power; inconvenient position of the USB-C port; high price

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470s is a refresh of the outgoing ThinkPad T460s. The T-series is Lenovo's top-of-the-line business notebook, and has been more or less the gold standard in the industry for many years now.

Competitively priced; Excellent keyboard and touch pad/pointing stick; Supports snap-in docking solutions; Good IPS screen

Chassis could feel more solid; Slightly larger than previous generation model

The refreshed ThinkPad T470s brings a faster CPU and other enhancements to one of our favorite thin-and-light laptops. It isn't cheap, but near-perfection rarely is.

Top-notch screen; Excellent keyboard; Good pep; battery life in test configuration; Deep connectivity; ThinkPad durability

Upgrades make it pricey; Low-res Webcam

Lenovo has carved out quite a business for itself in the laptop space over the years, led more recently by premium machines like the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon . However, there are obviously many more models in the ThinkPad family of products, beyond just the top-shelf X1 Carbon line.

A Tad Disappointed

I think I have owned about six ThinkPads and as a retired IBM exec had the use of many more. In the past my migration from old to new has been trouble free. This time my migration to the new T470s has been a nightmare. This is primarily due to no easy transfer support for Windows 10.

I got this laptop with a scratch and a dent on the touchpad.

I got this laptop with a scratch and a dent on the touchpad.. it can be seen that the package did not open, which means it happened at Lenovo's production.. it's horrible Lenovo, I'm very upset to get a damaged laptop for such a big money..

Lenovo ThinkPad T470s

The ThinkPad T470s doesn't bring any real innovation to the field, but rather, incrementally improves on a proven concept with some smart updates. It has a current-generation processor, the latest ports, a travel-friendly design, and new security features like biometric sign in.

Light and portable design; Touch screen; Myriad port and connectivity options; Comfortable keyboard; Long battery life

Feature set and performance don't stand out among similarly priced competitors; Lacks removable battery

Lenovo ThinkPad T470S review: Great battery, nice screen, good performance

If you've followed us over the past few years you know we've reviewed a lot of Lenovo products. For the most part, we've really enjoyed what we've reviewed and the Lenovo ThinkPad T470S is no different. The ThinkPad series is Lenovo's business focused line and they're built tough.
